A Few Houston Radio Notes

Platino Max added another channel to their app named PUROS CORRIDOS APA 1000X

Only Corridos Dad 1000X

I expect Chuck can get an engineer to switch 100.7's backup to mono if he so desires. LOL maybe David can with 93.3, but not sure if he is too involved.
I understand 93.3's installation requires a trip to the transmitter site to manually switch from stereo to mono, and depending on the weather, this can be problematic. Of course, it's not really a Houston station, regardless of what Univision believes otherwise.

Lol 98.3 and 99.5 are just repeating liners saying “you are listening to radio dabang 99.5 FM. Be dabang.” It’s quite entertaining.

Why am I not surprised.
All of the O&O TUDN AM stations have been sold. I don't think Univision keeps the TUDN Radio Network around once the stations are completely transferred to the DNC's "Ministry of LatinX Information". Makes sense to avoid the drive to Devers if the format will be flipped sooner or later.

KQBU is not part of the sale to LMN, only KLAT. Presumably TUDN will remain on 93.3 as long as Univision keeps the network going.

Univision will continue to program those stations for a minimum of 12 months after the closing.

I just want to add I heard the TUDN legal ID on KAMA HD3 and they didn’t mention that station. They mentioned the other 3 stations though.

That's exactly what I said.

Univision is supposed to provide content for a year after the sale closes. After that, I find it hard to believe that TelevisaUnivision keeps the TUDN Radio Network around just for KQBU. Sooner or later, the KLAT/KQBU simulcast will have to end. TelevisaUnivision may as well pull the plug on the simulcast now and let KQBU go back to simulcasting KAMA-FM or start a new format. KLAT should spend their one year in purgatory alone.

Yes, it does. Unfortunately, only AM stations were part of the sale, which includes KLAT but not KQBU.

There are several FMs included in that sale, including the RGV, Las Vegas, Fresno, as well as rimshot KFZO in the DFW market. Remains to be seen what will ultimately be programmed on those stations.

KQBU and KKHT are currently off. I can get KGSR HD and KNAL on 93.3. And KASE on 100.7

Where are you at, approximately? I have suspected that 93.3 is back on the Bertram tower recently, at least some of the time.
I'm currently in Shenandoah. And KGSR is back on that tower. I was just in the Austin area for a few days.

Also all the Las Vegas properties. The full markets that were sold are low revenue difficult markets. And the AMs had been for sale for quite a few years.

The formats will be talk and information, all with a liberal / progressive perspective. There is talk that where they have more than one station, there will be both Spanish and English operations, all targeted at Hispanics.
