Roula and Ryan replacing Atom and Maria really pisses me off--in case you couldn't already tell from earlier posts.
Maybe if enough people in Houston can decide to avoid KRBE altogether then Cumulus will just kill it and avoid the painful transition this station will go to.
KRBE will go from having a stranglehold to ------ footing around with a demo that's already taken and not looking for more radio options. From having a niche to sharing listeners with a station (KHMX) that probably should have been murdered some time ago.
The only time I've listened to Mix in the last 3 years was about 4 times to check out Sam's new show.
It's nice to have Sam back on the airwaves, but everything he does now is a copout. A flailing recreation of the authenticity of his show at KRBE.
I keep wishing that there was some way to prevent these Atlanta scumbags from ****ing up a great top 40 station. Alas, all we can do is watch as a top 40 landmark is destroyed by terrorists to quality radio.
Cumulus has put on a nice act by ressurecting the KLOL crew and "giving them jobs."
To have Wendy Miller tout how great Cumulus is everyday on his show is a nice touch, too.
Now we are seeing the true colors that have been there all along.
This is far worse than the KLOL implosion. With Rock 101, you had a station that was declining in revenues and a staff of jocks who were beginning to sound more like grandparents than rockers. I was upset when 34 years of KLOL was unplugged, but after the first few months of Mega, its seemed like a good idea.
KRBE was set in autopilot for the next 5 years. All Cumulus had to do was take over and sit back. Sit back and do NOTHING. Absolutely nothing.
Congrats to all of you Roula and Ryan fans--your show is back on the air.
I'm puking right now.
