A New Identity for WISX

And since 99% of the population has no idea, nor can hear it, it wouldn't be an issue to have it in Philly,

I venture to say that WJKS would probably have something meaningful to say about that. Probably in a court of law.

and more than Y 100 suffered because there was a "Y" station that could be picked up in part of the area during its lifetime.

Huh? What are you talking about?

Y102- WRFY in Reading. Their signal is clear through most of Montgomery County. Start getting into Philadelphia and it breaks up.

It's not gonna be KISS 106, or KISS 106.1, or 106.1 KISS-FM, or KISS PHILLY. CC uses the KISS branding for their CHR stations. They already own a CHR station in Philly Q 102

Likely not. But for a split second, it would be fun to imagine some heads exploding if they were to put CHR on 106 and flip 102. And now back to reality.

If anything I could see CC taking them to court. They have a history of legal action against stations using branding similar to KISS-FM.

Mark,

In Ralhey, NC, Clear Channel has a Rhythmic AC in "Kiss 93.9" WKSL, while owning CHR "G105.1" there. Anything's possible.

Christmas then Hot AC? This isn't your grandmother's Hot AC anymore...

All Christmas music formats do not belong on Hot AC stations.

WSNE-FM Taunton/Providence is a CC HOT AC doing all Christmas tunes. And they're even doing the Christmas tunes during their morning show, which is simulcast from CHR sister station in Boston KISS 108 and they're also doing Christmas Tunes during SEACREST.

Musically, the same it seems. Brand new imaging, imaging voices and name.

Smart move....Clear's former Rhythmic AC in Atlanta that had evolved in to Rhythmic CHR changed names to "Wild" yesterday. If you're going to change the music, go ahead and change the name, start fresh.

They are launching some interactive playlist thing on Thursday.

This should be interesting to see if it's something like what WPST does with Jelli, but all day long instead of at night.

My guess is it is CC's version of it. I'm surprised they are doing it 9-5.. clearly they figure this will get people listening at work and will finally get their TSL up from the doldrums. I've done the jelli thing and it can be quite addicting. I can see people sitting there for hours pressing the buttons trying to get their songs to play. This is what CC is hoping will happen too, I'm sure.

It does appear they are going to continue to straddle that line with Rhythmic...

liners such as "Mix you can move to"

and "80's and 90's you can dance to"

Would've been cooler if they stunted with Christmas music for a few hours, forcing B101 to flip, and then went back to normal as mix 106.1
