Thoughts on if it could work at all? Or is this some laughable fantasy posting?

I know I wouldn't listen to the station. I like to turn on a station I like while I'm at work, and listen to it all day long. If I have to change the station when the hosts change shifts, I doubt if I'd change back later.

Justareporter opined; Please be so kind as to not think you know everything.

Why should I do that? At least 89% of the posters here seem to have that attitude already cornered. Read Don 62 and David's posts for a while. In that way, I'm I'm just singin' with the choir.

Some people here have provided an untesed "theory." Think about the argument about changing the station back and forth all day.

I merely provided an example of how the system I describe has worked in a competitive market since the 1960's.

As another poster here says, "no brag - just fact." Your welcome.

There are better media for the emotional liberal message, such as movies. Even Michael Moore once criticized the idea of "liberal talk radio" as a "liberal pony express".

You're right about that. In fact, I think we'd find the media equivalent to conservative
talk radio for the right would be the internet/blobosphere for Progressives these days.
It's growing big-time for them.

Here is the epitomy of illogical: the average TV viewer switches stations constantly yet someone suggests that once they turn to a station they would never switch to another.

Time to throw out all those TV remotes....

So one dee jay leaves and another one comes on, or the music is interrupted by news, or those annoying ads, and you're offended and have to change the channel?

So music stations play one style of music all day long?
Every song is a slow or uptempo song?

Seems like there's a lot of switching there, from fast to slow to medium tempo songs. I don't see people flippin' their knobs just because of that.

I think many on this board seem to think their "educated" conservative listeners can't handle adult or mature debate, and remain scared of hearing anything that doesn't jibe with their precious beliefs.

It's called expanding, something talk radio PDs have failed at miserably.

I do believe there are ultra-conservatives who have no desire to "expand" their
ideals. I can't tell you how many conservatives I've met, for instance, who
flatly refuse to see "Farenheit 9/11" or "Sicko". Frankly, their President is that
way, too- it's well documented that George W. Bush has no interest in hearing
bad news or input that flies in the face of his ideas. Great example: yesterday,
he actually looked at a roomfull of reporters and asserted that Alberto Gonzales
has not only done nothing wrong but that nobody has accused him of wrongdoing.
A commentator asked a guest what they thought of Bush's comments and his
response was, "well, he probably doesn't hear that stuff because he
doesn't want to hear it. It's common knowledge the President tunes out talk
that doesn't fit his expectations or doesn't jibe with his goals".

That, in a nutshell, is why our great nation is in such turmoil.

As someone who started in radio in 1962 (see the "first time" thread in Connecticut) , I can assure you that (your word) "Tempo" has nothing to do with (your word) "style."

Mr 62, I said nothing about debate. I was referring to SUCCESS - something (to paraphrase your words) seemingly in which (supposedly) "educated" libs have little broadcast experience.

Mr00617 (all these numbered people, sheesh - are you all writing from PRISON?) I never said a word about any side of the political spectrum.

My WGN comment focused on the SUCCESS they show WITHOUT the hosts having to be "identified" as a particular political flavor. To my way of thinking, That's a much classier way to handle things, that leads to better feelings for all involved.

Rating and financial success followed this style at WGN. THATS what I care about, not political baloney. Politics is merely "what's on."

I was in business to make money. If it would be successfuly received, I'd play music backwards to do that .

Ham,
I was being facetious. Of course radio stations don't play all slow songs all day. The music varies in pace and style (or at least should.).

I was mocking the poster who would get so offended when another type of radio show came on, like he would really be hurt if an opposing view were to somehow mistakenly make it onto all-conservative, all-the-time talk radio.
