I think many on this board seem to think their "educated" conservative listeners can't handle adult or mature debate, and remain scared of hearing anything that doesn't jibe with their precious beliefs.
It's called expanding, something talk radio PDs have failed at miserably.
I do believe there are ultra-conservatives who have no desire to "expand" their
ideals. I can't tell you how many conservatives I've met, for instance, who
flatly refuse to see "Farenheit 9/11" or "Sicko". Frankly, their President is that
way, too- it's well documented that George W. Bush has no interest in hearing
bad news or input that flies in the face of his ideas. Great example: yesterday,
he actually looked at a roomfull of reporters and asserted that Alberto Gonzales
has not only done nothing wrong but that nobody has accused him of wrongdoing.
A commentator asked a guest what they thought of Bush's comments and his
response was, "well, he probably doesn't
hear that stuff because he
doesn't want to hear it. It's common knowledge the President tunes out talk
that doesn't fit his expectations or doesn't jibe with his goals".
That, in a nutshell, is why our great nation is in such turmoil.
