If you put up an antenna in the area of Seven Springs, PA, these were possibilities at one time ...

KDKA-2 (CBS) Pittsburgh
WPSX now WPSU-3 (PBS) Clearfield
WTAE-4 (ABC) Pittsburgh
WDTV-5 (CBS) Weston, WV, or WTTG-5 Washington, DC
WJAC-6 (NBC) Johnstown
WTRF-7 (first NBC, now CBS), Wheeling, WV, or WMAL-7 (ABC) DC
WWCP-8 (FOX) Johnstown (earlier, maybe, WGAL, Lancaster)
WSTV now WTOV-9 (first CBS, now NBC), Steubenville
WTAJ-10 (CBS) Altoona
WIIC now WPXI-11 (NBC) Pittsburgh
WGAL-12 (NBC) Clarksburg
WQED-13 (PBS) Pittsburgh

Clarksburg's Ch. 12 is WBOY, not WGAL. Ch. 7 in DC is now WJLA.

I also haven't attempted this one either, but this feat may have also been able to have been pulled off in parts of western Indiana W/NW of Lafayette, particularly in or near Fowler, IN (Benton County) with a good, tall antenna:

2--A "Battle of the Network Stars" on 2 between WBBM Chicago (CBS) and WTWO Terre Haute (NBC) ;D (plus all the tropo)
3--WCIA Champaign, IL (plus tropo)
4--WTTV Bloomington, IN
5--WMAQ Chicago
6--WRTV Indianapolis
7--WLS Chicago
8--WISH Indy
9--WGN Chicago
10--WTHI Terre Haute
11--WTTW Chicago
12--WILL Urbana, IL
13--WTHR Indy

Thank you for the correction. I can't believe I did that in the case of Clarksburg. In DC I had forgotten that callsign change. Thanks again.

as a kid in the mid 60's...I would get up early on Saturday and see
what was available on the Admiral portable from the South end of Louisville

time-accurate calls

02 WDTN Dayton or WTWO Terre Haute
03 WAVE Louisville
04 WTTV Bloomington *
05 WLW-T Cincinnati
06 WFBM Indianapolis
07 WTVW Evansville
08 WISH Indianapolis
09 WCPO Cincinnati
10 WTHI Terre Haute * – occasional at best
11 WHAS Louisville
12 WKRC Cincinnati *
13 WLW-I Indianapolis or WLTV Bowling Green

* snowy at best…but watchable - 6 & 8 from Indianapolis and 7 from Evansville almost always there early AM
