I wonder why Fox doesn't have Network evening news at 6:30pm like the other networks?
Because it allows 6:30 pm local news to exist, just like how it allows 10 pm local news to exist whereas otherwise, it wouldn't be possible.
Example... Southwest Florida. WXCW (via WINK) and WFTX are both on at 6:30 and 10:00 p.m. But if FOX were to put national news at 6:30, WXCW would still provide an option. But here in South Florida, where I live, because WSVN is the only one on at 6:30 p.m., I wouldn't get that option anymore if that were to happen, unless WSFL is also on at 6:30 p.m. too. Then I give you Central Florida and Tampa Bay where WOFL and WTVT respectively are both on at 6:30 p.m. Take those away for FOX's national broadcast and there's no 6:30 p.m. news in those markets either.
Face it, being on at 6:30 is wonderful for these markets and viewers would be lost or tuning in elsewhere for local news if the FOX affiliates aren't doing so at that critical timeslot. Yes, I said critical.
I remember that they did, many years ago. I think Morton Dean was the anchor. It may have just been on weekends.I wonder why Fox doesn't have Network evening news at 6:30pm like the other networks?

That may be what I'm thinking of. It might have aired on a Fox station. He never worked for FOX. He worked for CBS and ABC with a three-year stint at INN: The Independent News from the studios of WPIX New York.

I called WABC and they said that Wheel being in repeats this week was specifically the reason for the WNT encores. Wheel will "99% likely" be back at 7:30 on the O&O's next week since it's new episodes.
However, April 13-17 is also repeats for Wheel (replacing a pulled week promoting UK vacations), so the WNT encores may resume then.
All of next week's Wheel episodes are now listed at 1:07 AM on WABC, so the WNT encores will indeed resume.
Is this a local thing, but Kimmel starts at 11:35, breaks for 30 for Nightline at 12:05 and resumes at 12:35 - 1:05.
