I've been hearing his voice on radio spots for Lending Tree. At first, I wasn't sure; I recognize the tone of his voice from his appearances on "Family Guy" as "Mayor Adam West;" then, the other day, for the first time, I saw a television commercial, with Adam West appearing on-screen. I guess he has to supplement his "Batman" royalties somehow...
He may or may not "need" the money, but I wouldn't assume. Does Gene Hackman need the money he gets for voicing the Lowe's Home Improvement commercials? I seriously doubt it. The fact is, Adam West has a good voice, and it's relatively easy money - a couple hours of his time, and a short drive to some recording studio. Why shouldn't he do voiceover work even if he doesn't need the money?
And as the guru of voiceover, Don Morrow, likes to say, "Voiceover pays more than brain surgery."
Why else are Morgan Freeman and Michael Douglas introducing the CBS and NBC newscasts, respectively?
