Adjustments coming to WQKT flip?

1260 is getting transmitter site grounding system work done. 1300 got a new transmitter last year and did some repairs to their antenna system.

1220 is amazing how bad their signal is - not to mention they can't modulate worth a damn. A 50 kilowatt AM should be MUCH MUCH louder on the dial (think 850 or 1100)

Also, 1300 doesn't have a good signal towards the west and North Olmsted looks to be in a null. They dump the bulk of the pattern to the north east, up into Mentor. This thing has a crazy loud signal over the eastern part of the metro.

That is an exaggerated real coverage area for 1300. Today, in urban areas, it takes from 10 mV/m to 15 mV/m to overcome noise. 1300 is rather noisy by the time you get to Euclid and Mayfield Heights, and at night it is worse.

I must have a high tolerance for noise. But yeah, to me it's "slightly staticy" when I'm at the Eastgate shopping mall. :D
