This time around, it's DRAKE ft. RIHANNA "Take Care". Seriously! What gives?! ???

No offense, but this is the thinking that has caused CHR to sound homogenized over the last couple years - look at the double digit ratings of some independently-owned CHRs that play Seether into Justin Bieber - and check out the I-Pods of some 18-34 year old women and I guarantee you'll see a much broader taste in music than Clear Channel and Cumulus would have you believe...

With the Vertical Horizon and Train, I'm talking more about the age and associated feel of the songs than the variety aspect. Coming out of a very current, slick sounding pop record (Pitbull, Flo Rida or whoever) and heading straight into a downtempo, 10+ year old gold that inherently FEELS Hot AC is the issue...not the fact that the latter is a guitar-based song.
Pitbull into Gotye or even Pitbull into Andy Grammer still feels fresh because they both sound current, which is what CHR should theoretically be about.

Well, take a listen to the song. It has little appeal to the demographic of a Pop CHR, it plays on Urban stations, this is where it belongs.
RPF said:The song "Take Care" by Drake and Rihanna isn't as common on a lot of Pop CHR's as a usual Top 10, it's extremely Rythmetic. It is on the playlist of two Urban stations here (WUSL and WPHI) and not even daily rotation of a Pop-leaning Rythmetic CHR (WRDW)

I beg to differ.......there are several Pop/CHR stations across America that has it in rotation (not to mention it's #11 on the Hot 100 and #8 on the Pop charts, according to Billboard, if that counts for anything).
Disregarding Billboard, it's #8 on the Top 40 Mainstream charts posted by Mediabase (notice I said TOP 40 MAINSTREAM)
Yes it appeals to Urban stations, but look at the numbers. It also appeals to Pop audiences as well. Care to dispute?

WRDW spun Take Care 119 times this week.
In addition, WIOQ played it 53 times (#11 on their playlist). It is a top 10 hit nationally on both major CHR charts (Mediabase and Billboard). Can't get too much more Pop-friendly than that.

WIOQ is a half assed CHR, WPST is the better CHR in the Philly area, how many times did they spin "Take Care"?
