A few of my favorites, whenever heard on terrestrial radio, never seem to get honored with the full versions, so all we hear are butchered radio cuts.
The question; if the long versions were played, do you think it should be on a traditional "oldies" station or would a "classic rock" station be more likely to spin the album version? Perhaps the theory with oldies is that the songs are generally shorter and stations want MORE music in each hour? --- or so afraid that buttons will be pushed more frequently if an unappreciated song runs longer than 3 minutes.
Here my short list of candidates:
Chicago "Beginnings"
Doors "Light My Fire"
Hall & Oates "She's Gone"
Steely Dan "Do It Again"
Any others of note?
