Alt 105.7 flipping

The opinion is based on recent domain registrations. This is highly speculative, and usually wrong.

I wouldn’t say that. Lance has been fairly right on the money when it comes to domains that are turned into reality. Some have been wrong, but most come to fruition, even if not immediately.

Here is an update

iHeartMedia Atlanta announced today that Z105.3, Tu Estación Para Super Hits, is moving to 105.7 FM, effective immediately. The move will allow a larger audience to enjoy The Spanish Contemporary format. The station is also currently broadcasting on Z105.3.

Z105.7 will broadcast popular Spanish Contemporary Hit Radio songs from top artists including Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Karol G, Romeo Santos, Marc Anthony and more. Listeners can also tune in to hear their favorite top-rated on-air personalities such as Enrique Santos, Jessi Dee and more.

Any ideas or rumors as to what will end up going onto 105.3?

AC!! Bring back the Peach! "105.3 The Peach" Or "Sunny 105.3" - Atlanta's At Work Favorites from the 80s to Today!" Like KOST and KODA or even The Breeze...
As President Trump has said, "What do you have to lose?" (referring to iHeart)

Agree. I think Soft AC is the best option and biggest hole to fill in the Atlanta market.

Hmm, how about 96.7 moving to 105.3? I know the market is Urban saturated, but CC/iHeart should’ve went Urban years ago. Well, The Breakfast Club seems to be one of iHeart’s main focus so a better signal in ATL isn’t out of the question. Many hip hop fans don’t even know 96.7 The Beat exist.

As much as I dislike it personally, I completely agree that an upgrade of Real 96.7 to 105.3 is the most likely outcome.

If & when that happens, I would expect 105.7 to simulcast on 96.7, or possibly, 640 to simulcast on 96.7.

This is somewhat deja vu all over again. When Viva existed, it simulcasted on both 105.3 & 105.7 for a time, and it didn't last. I don't see how "the spanish Z" could outlast Viva.

NO, no offense man, but it is saturated...I feel that wBZy 105.3 will be "The Breeze" which is what Atl needs...

The Breeze is still only an HD2 format in many markets. It skews too old for most advertisers to target. Cutting another piece of the rhythmic pie might be the only realistic option in a melody-averse market like Atlanta.

I think that makes perfect sense.

When Viva existed, it was before the huge reggaeton explosion and the format was Pop CHR/Pop AC. Today's format crosses the nations of origin and appeals to huge groups of 18-49 Hispanics.

The only possible issue I see with Soft AC is the fact that, tempo wise, Christian AC seems to share a lot in common. Both formats are also viewed as "family friendly."

Atlanta is a big Christian AC market. Might that make it more difficult for Soft AC to emerge with a commercially sustainable piece of the ratings pie?

Personally, I think Adult Hits would be the safer play...but I'd like to see Adult Hits on 94.1, not a rimshooter such as 105.3.

Pretty sure we'll see an Urban format of some kind, led by the Breakfast Club, on 105.3 in the not too distant future.
