New York Mets Spanish Broadcasts Move To 92.3 WINS-HD2 - RadioInsight Will Alt be removed or go to HD 3? I hope they don't get taken away yet again.
Even if it does get taken away. The format will be back on FM when 94.7 the block signs off sometime before the end of 2024. The primary 94.7 signal would be a better use than an HD2?The Block actually seems like it would be a better fit for the Spanish PBP. Plus, they could have grown its puny cume! Oh well, another missed opportunity.
For Mets broadcasts? Well yes, if they actually want people to hear them. The uptake on HD subchannels isn't exactly on fire, is it?The primary 94.7 signal would be a better use than an HD2?
We don't know yet if Audacy is shifting other HD sub-channels to have the Spanish games with a better format fit, such as their "WINS Noticias" streaming product. Channel Q has been on both WINS-HD3 and WNEW-HD2 for a couple months so there could be another shoe to drop.
That's what I'm thinking. HD2 technically fulfills an OTA requirement. Baseball fans are a dedicated group, they will find the streaming app. And for those who don't want to mess with the app in their cars, there's the HD available. But maybe it's just a way for Audacy to fulfill a contractual obligation to air the games OTA while expecting most Spanish speaking fans to stream them instead? 🤷‍♂️
People are laugh reacting to this but I think you're on to something here!! I really hope this happens!!!!!! Again, you are neglecting the cluster sales strategy here. Adding an Hispanic and Black focused format to the cluster package is of much greater value than you can see from the (useless) 6+ shares.Even if it does get taken away. That's what you'd expect to see from a small market AM station in the middle of nowhere, not Market # 1.I'm an ardent defender of their format, but this is a joke, right? Here's the webpage for their morning show. There's literally no clickable content. It's a tiny photo of the jock.
Hope you are right!!!Even if it does get taken away. The format will be back on FM when 94.7 the block signs off sometime before the end of 2024. It seems obvious at this point

No offense to small market radio, a lot of them do a great job serving their community.
It’ll end up a simulcast of WCBS 880 before it goes alternativeEven if it does get taken away. The format will be back on FM when 94.7 the block signs off sometime before the end of 2024. It seems obvious at this point
It could be a lot of things before alternative, but I highly doubt one of them will be a WCBS/880 simulcast. It’ll end up a simulcast of WCBS 880 before it goes alternative
I see what you’re saying. But, isn’t the 94.7 signal in the suburbs for the most part? Do the clients they look to reach live in the areas where 94.7 reaches or is popular?Again, you are neglecting the cluster sales strategy here.
