I'm a fan of the alternative format done well, and I've been critical of WNYL's whiny, "don't-call-us-rock," alt-pop. But I think the station has been sounding better lately. And I have to admit the 2-minute breaks work for me. I can tolerate them and will personally sit through them when driving around tuned into that station.
I think that the marathon commercial breaks that big broadcasters have been pounding out all these years ended up creating the worst negative stigma for FM radio. It's good to see someone try a better approach, finally.
