Net Gnomes at radioinsight found someone has registered Alt929.com and wonder if WBOS may be going for a new identity/slogan

If it is possible for a dull radio station completely devoid of energy to be any less interesting GM has apparently found it. Research, research, research makes WBOS a dull boy. Great work Cadillac Jack.
My old boss at WFNX went off about this.

Ken West as well as all of the local Greater Media are running one boring station! For the most part, WBOS has always been mediocre at whatever they do.
Non controversial, is non altermative. Boring! Playlist, Boring! It's a damn jukebox playing the worst songs
And wait until their advertisers find out they are buried in a ten minute sink hole. Bye, bye.
Where have you been?
Howard Stern crossed that bridge a long time ago...playing 12-13-14 minutes of spots in a row sometimes..
WEEI did that as well...when they were number 1 in (almost) every daypart.
The trend is towards longer stopsets and advertisers haven't deserted these station.
And...where did you get this "ten minute" figure? Many stations have 6-7-8 minute stopsets and do fine.
As for the point about stations that are "full of energy and interesting," I give credit it to both sports talkers, AMP, WAAF (mornings) and HOT.
So you are comparing a music intense station to 2 sports talkers and WAAF's morning show that plays no music?
You are making my points Windex.
Stern and WEEI both got away with it because they were talk formats, not music.
And the trend is actually not toward stop sets that are 8-10 minutes long...which I heard yesterday on Alt.
And yes I'm responding to the comment about stations full of energy and interesting.
It will play the meter game but will not be rewarded by advertisers...
I'm just rendering opinions like everyone else here but let me take a stab at answering.
Points taken. Questions answered. Back to work.
