The day pattern is a blaster around Houston but it's still littered with "holes," places with dramatic drops in strength, some of them in very important and heavily populated areas. The changes in the pattern did very little to improve the overall coverage, since they still have to protect numerous stations in various directions (even some "phantom" stations in Mexico that will never sign on). The nighttime coverage is great as long as you're on the west or northwest side and within the single, narrow lobe running from the transmitter site southeast to Bellaire. Outside that path (like to the north in The Woodlands or anywhere in Montgomery County), it's either unimpressive or non-existent.
