Am I the only one that enjoys BDH?

Posting on the go(litterly walking and getting on a super shuttle) from my blackberry.....

My self a graduate level degreed, russ martin loving, jagger enjoying...TL turn'n off love line sleeping through that.... late 20 something random guy....

Really enjoy BDH his interviews are compelling no matter who it is from the hell's angles to the recent interesting but strang tommy 2tone his lexicon exceeds that of the average jo....I like him and really enjoy his show "shows" he seems to really throw a bit of himself into every topic.....he is not your average fast taking so we can get the ad in radio guy and I like that....also he did a great write up about the fcc for the dallas morning news awhile back....he seems to be a person that is who he is radio shtiick or no...

Why all the negitive stuff about him?

Again sorry fast typed for lack of time and no spell check....on a blackberry 8820 its easy to hit he wrong key....

Some of his interviews are good. My problem with him is the endless chatter going on with Turley and Eric. If BDH stayed more topical, it would be a better show. I know for more the main irritant is the incessant giggling of his on air partners.

And as I stated else where, not take 2 hours, and 16 minutes to ask a simple question.

It gets old real quick.

I'm so glad to hear one other lone BDH fan speak up. I was surprised at the vehement BDH-bashing that started with the demise of P&K. BDH is my favorite host on 105.3. I loved it when Pugs was gone so BDH would fill in. I don't mean to sound elitist (but I no doubt will come off that way)....BDH is extremely intelligent, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of an astonishing breadth of topics, he is amazingly well-prepared for interviews, and his humor is very dry. Your average radio listener wanting either morning show high-jinx or afternoon frat-boy humor would not get BDH. BTW, I listen(ed) to 105.3 all day...from Jagger through P&K through Russ. I don't know what I'm going to listen to now. I was hoping BDH would get a daytime show, but it looks like a long shot since he apparently only has 2 fans in DFW ;-}

And he places high esteem on the crass elements of today's culture. I need a refuge from Girls Gone Wild infomercials, D-List celebrity interviews and news, bad heavy metal bands and Pro Wrestling/MMA coverage. BDH thrives in that circle and never hesitates to name-drop his insider friendships.

And it is not that he speaks too slowly for me, or uses big words that I and my non-graduate degree level troglodyte brain cannot understand. It is he never speaks concisely. After a while his long-winded sermons stop registering as human speech in my consciousness and come across much like dolphin speak, just a series of clicks and whistles.

This is not to say he isn't a nice guy. I'm a nice guy, too, but I have no business having a radio show, either.

P&K's departure just provided an avenue to express what I, for one, have felt since shortly after BDH's arrival. 105.3 never seemed to be interested in listener feedback before this implosion. Now that listeners have found this forum it is like a dam burst.

Actually, I do enjoy some of BDH, in small doses.. His topics though tend to focus to very specific audiences..sometimes they seem only targeted to him self. His grandmother is a hoot when she calls in.
Some of his interviews are interesting to me, but not enough to capture me as a full time listener. Plus the great majority of his topics are best suited for the late night audience. I get the feeling he has some vampire tendencies and is happiest being on in the late hours.

I do think he is an interesting character and I think he is trying to be a team player in the midst of a huge mess. I do feel bad that Gavin is taking advantage of this and has him doing two shows 4 days a week, plus week-end plus promos. In light of that, I think people should cut him some slack.

All the more reason Gavin should go. He's taking advantage of what all remains at KLLI, which is to say not very much. I'm sure BDH is a human, not a robot.

I agree with you here. I'm sure he is a big hit with the late night body modification and goth crowd. And I don't envy his being in his present position at the station. But a mid-day host he ain't.

I'm glad I am not the only one. I really enjoy BDH. Wrestling,Joe Francis, O.J.,that does get old, however I do like his show and always tuned in at 10. I never listened to Lykus and stopped listening to the RMS a few years back. I was actually suprised BDH didnt do 2 live shows one midday and his regular slot.It sounds like overkill but the many times he filled in for p&K he always did his show. He definitly works hard. I hope he stays and doesnt disappear like everyone else the past few weeks. A thought, does anyone think the Jagger show has been horrible lately? Maybe its just Mondos dumbass remarks. :-X

I get tired of people who have 4 posts ever, and start hey, why don't you like BDH.... We see right thru it. You know him, or you are on the show, and this is a way to drum up pretend interest in the show... I know Richard; have known him for some 10 odd years. The problem with him is that his show is interesting to few but himself and his two idiot monkeys. He talks slow to give the impression of being smart, but if you pay attention you will see that is not the case. Richard really thinks that everyone dreams of being him....I just can not stand to listen to that show. It fails in so many radio ways I don't have the time or energy to type them all.... If it is such a great show, why did the Ticket fire the whole lot of them? NO Ratings.....

I like BDH. I also happen to like his interviews. Do I care for all of his chosen topics? No, but then again, I can't remember any radio personality that was able to keep my interest segment after segment five days a week.
I'm not sure that Eric is a great fit on the show, and yes Turley's laugh drives me nuts, but all in all, I think BDH is compelling radio.

I like BDH. I am similar to him in politics and music, and I like to listen to him talk about those subjects. His interviews are really well done and he doesn’t ask the usual questions, which is nice. On the flip side, I find it annoying that he uses any excuse to sing a little ditty, I could care less about MMA, and, lets all be honest here-a grown man talking that deep about Pro-Wrestling is downright creepy. Wrasslin’ talk has no place in a program meant for adults. I like him and I will continue to listen to him, but I probably represent less than 1% of his target audience. I agree that he is probably better suited to nights.

He drags things to long!!!
And yes he carrys on to long with Eric and Turly..
He is good for night time radio but NOT daytime!!
I want pugs back!!!

BDH is a nice guy, but seriously if he was that good at Radio wouldn't he be on Middays at the Ticket?

True!!
They only put BDH there cause they had nobody else..
I am sure BDH is a very nice guy, just not for daytime radio..

I thought that BDH was on the ticket?

I agree with Jaggers show starting to suck now. Maybe it’s the P&K bashing maybe it is just Mondo’s voice. Maybe it’s because with all the drama going on at the station they have actually just turned into a train wreck this week. I try to tune in but end up turning it off five minutes later. I just can’t take 1053 anymore. I am stuck listening to crappy music on my ipod because I have not updated it. I really don’t want to listen to politics or sports talk radio. The regular radio sucks. I will not be surprised if the format changes, Gavin/David/Russ (pick one or all) get fired, or P&K have more ratings against Jagger and fat mafia in the AM.

That's the point he was on nights when Bob and Dan took over Middays. Was he even considered?

Not to mention the 10-12 slot, that has changed hands multiple times. You'd think that would be a perfect spot for an up and comer.
