Am I the only one that enjoys BDH?

I really enjoy BDH but he's probably too smart and his humor too dry for mid days. After a while it can be like listening to Ben Stein do radio ...Bueller ....Bueller. I doubt BDH can pull great ratings in a market where Russ Martin's racism and fart joke radio is number one.

If it wasn't for Eric's divorce (GREAT radio IMO) and the promise of P&K announcements, I would probably be listening to something else already.

I am listening to BDH right now. He sounds pretty interesting, especially since he brings his grandma into the show. He is also cute, but I do not like his hair. Too long.

Well, it's official. BDH is doing a great job. Gavin just said so. So to everyone of us who said BDH isn't suited for talk radio can just go pound sand. Gavin has spoken.

I love BDH's show, its entertaining to me. I do believe he fits better at night time though if he wants to continue doing his show the same way.

I get tired of people who have 4 posts ever, and start hey, why don't you like BDH.... We see right thru it. You know him, or you are on the show, and this is a way to drum up pretend interest in the show...

ISaidSo,

I don't know BDH or anyone who works at 105.3. I'm just someone who listens every day. The reason I've never posted before is that I've never had reason to even read this board before. I just came here trying to figure out what the H was going on at my favorite station. It was just too bizarre that both P&K and RMS live broadcasts both stopped.Anyway, I agree with some of the criticisms of BDH. I turn him off when he talks about MMA, and I'm not fan of his buddy Joe Francis. But I do find his interviews and discussions entertaining and different from the usual stuff you hear on talk radio. I'm LOL at the 'vampire tendencies' and 'body modification and goth crowd' comments...he'd no doubt be flattered.

He talks slow to give the impression of being smart, but if you pay attention you will see that is not the case.

Hunhh?? Most people think talking slowly means you're not too bright. BDH doesn't actually talk slowly, just circuitously. His questions contain lots of background information before he gets to the actual question. To me, that shows he has done his homework instead of phoning in the interview and/or that he knows a lot more than the average person about the interviewee. You may know him, but you obviously don't like him for some reason. And he IS extremely intelligent...I'd put money on his IQ being in the 140 to 150 range.

sorry, but no it's not.... Also, I don't have anything against him as a person, I just think his show sucks.. That's all

I enjoy Dick's show. He's intelligent, knowledgable on many subjects, has a dry witty sense of humor, has great contacts and interviews, etc...

While I can see where some may think he takes to long to get to a point, I don't mind his unpolished delivery.

Give me BDH talking about intelligent subjects across the board... over P&K's ignorant, superficial, bitchy ramblings on American Idol and plastic surgery ANY day. Sorry, but P&K sucked. The only reason they even got a show in this market is because it was part of a lawsuit.

Yes BDH is "more fun" to listen to at night, however I think he is doing a great job filling in middays. Hell,he doesnt even get to say its his show but he does it everyday and he doesnt complain! Congrats to Jagger about his little girl, but other than that since this all started his show has gone down. I really like Jagger, been listening to him for years, however his support staff is awful and I think he probably has realized that.Keep Dean for fun but Mondo has made an ass out himself with his knocks towards P&K. It reall y shows his character when back in the day whe n Dean and Mondo couldnt come on board right away due to the no compete P&K constantly talked about him on thier show, how great he was ,couldnt wait for him to come on,hell,Pugs was even genuinly concrned about Mondos bad financial situation at the time. What a great friend Mondo turned out to be,if Jagger lets him go,Mondo will go nowhere and his hot wife WILL leave. Good luck Mondo! Burning bridges is not a bright move.

I like him, and he seems like a really awesome dude...I called in once just to comment on something he was talking about and he gave me tickets to a concert. And when you text him using the 4 free text feature, he or someone else will actually text you back..I don't know, it is just a matter of opinion, I do like him better at night though..I actually like all shows on that station, except Leykis..Hell I even listen to Everett Newton if I am in the car on Sunday nights...

oh well opinions are like a-holes everyones got one!

BDH is a talent. Some people may not get his smart humor,I blame public schools :D

Isn't that a variation of the "You're all just jealous" argument?

We've all heard his show. He isn't that smart. Or, inversely, we're not that stupid. One of the reasons he annoys me so much is he spends so much airtime on the least challenging topics. If his KLLI gig ends tomorrow you can bet he's not going to be snapped up by NPR.

As someone who is not a product of the public school system, I would say that is BDH's biggest problem. He has this faux smart about him that just rings so bogus if you know any better.

I don't dislike BDH myself. He is a mildly interesting and quirky guy, he is just not cut-out to being a full time radio host.

My thoughts exactly. Though, it's not that he's not smart. In fact, it's because of his apparent intelligence that his topics are made that much more frustrating. I mean, how do you get riveting debate about MMA or Girls Gone Wild? That's why, perhaps ironically, I go back and forth between KLLI and KERA all day while I'm working. After Jagger, though, I have to admit most of my time is spent on NPR.

I like BDH and will listen but his style and content is more suited for NPR really.

His show should be called "The Mild Ass Circus" instead. ;D

(whoops, just noticed Albert mention NPR already, LOL)

Nah. NPR requires actual substance, not just style.

BDH has some interesting interviews and get them because of his disarming style and intelligent questioning techniques. He's maybe a little high brow for 105.3. He doesn't fit the mid day gig in my opinion. Evenings to replace that slug Lykis would be a refreshing change, though.

Yeah, his interview of Pauly Shore was definitely over our heads. I wish he'd dumb it down a bit for us dullards.
