AM 920 WMNI - Was news talk recently after being Standards for many years - recently flipped back to adult standards

AM 1580 WVKO - Gospel music

AM 1550 WDLR - Spanish Music format.

Distant wise that can be picked up sometimes within the market.

AM 1270 WQTT - True Oldies Channel

AM 1110 WGNZ - Southern Gospel "Solid Gospel"

KONO (860kc/5kW/.9kW/Classic Hits)

WRUS (610kc/1.8kW/59W) Russellville, KY runs a variety format with country to about 2pm and classic hits with live humans hosting those programs. Around 8pm, it's all 80s with no one until night service is run over by a Alabama Gospel station. On Sundays, it's church services and Gospel with a live host after 2pm. I don't know what automation system they are using, but it has some issues with buffer bursts at the beginning of each track. Great local radio!

Here in Columbus, WMNI (920 AM) plays standards now. WMNI resumed that format recently after several months in an all-news simulcast with its FM partner.
WQTT (1270 AM) from Marysville, 30 miles northwest, is a TOC affiliate with a 500-watt signal quite directed at Columbus and which gets out pretty well. The only non-oldies programming are some local high school sports and a two-hour afternoon talk show weekdays.

An AM music station you can kiss goodbye is KOY-1230 in Phoenix; they are now a finance-talk station, a KFNN-wanna-be.

Actually they break even for the most part. Even KWLE has listeners.

KRPA is a 500 watt daytimer which is too weak to make it into Vancouver (they also get KILLED by CKWX 20 kilocycles up the dial) Victoria doesn't have much of a South Asian audience and Seattle can't hear it because it's too weak there (and 1090 kills it too.) And there are very few South Asian communities in Northwest Washington.

KRPI 1550 and KVRI 1600 are beamed full blast into the Lower Mainland of BC. You can't even hear them south of Bellingham.

You could also add 1540 KXPA, which plays standards at night. And CJVB 1470 (usually Asian language programming) also plays jazz/pop and other music at night. I've heard a lot of interesting music on that station lately -- the other night they had a show on playing reggae.

Cumulus Talker WICC 600 Bridgeport, CT plays quite a bit of Oldies Music on Saturday Nights/Sunday Mornings. Sometimes they'll even play music during the rain delays of Yankees games.

WTUB 700 Orange-Athol, Massachusetts - They simulcast WXRV 92.5 The River. They're supposed to be a 2500 watt daytimer, but lots of times they stay on long past sunset.

In NE and Central Pa: WARM 590 True Oldies, 730..simulcast of FM oldies in Wilkes Barre, WHLM 930 Bloomsburg..Gold based AC during the week, an hour of oldies at Noon and oldies(50's through 70's)on the weekend, WHYL 960 Carlisle, standards,AC. WLSH Lansford 1410,oldies and WWSM 1510 Classic Country.

It's nice hearing music on AM because usually it's stuff you can't get on FM anymore..soft AC, standards, traditional oldies,classic country.
