WNAK (well, they're FM too!) Finally looked at their website.
Very informative, colorful, big print, modulating meters, really
nice. Access for birthdays, community stuff, photos of the
program hosts, contact numbers, etc. Apparently there is a big
guy there by the name of "Rocky" who is the Operations guy, Ira
is the main cheese, well, anyway, it's all listed. They have a
picture of a dog for their overnight program host.
WARM: Finally heard some local ads. A furniture place in Dickson
touting mattresses, and Dr. Frank Bucci. I'm sure there are a
few I missed. It's still Scott Shannon all the time but there
seems to be a rotation. They are repeating songs but they seem
to be good ones. The reception is still poor. One of my grade
school buddies complained the other night that they took his
talk programs off to play oldies. At the table where we were
sitting in a local eatery came a unified response, "So you were
the listener!!!" If Citadel were smart, and they're not, they'd
simulcast WARM on Junior to fill the Oldies void on FM.
WILK: Some very vicious attacks made on Nancy and Kevin on a
thing called Lackawanna County news which is on the web. The
degree of mean spirited comments was incredible. If anything
it tells you the Morning Show is at least appealing to some
sort of basic instinct in NEPA. I know a few people on this
board have dismissed the morning show on WILK but jeez, when
any talent can get this type of reaction, even from someone
way off center, it tells me the duo is hitting some type of
cultural nerve.
WICK: Still sounding very good in both Wilkes Barre and
Scranton. Speaking of WICK, on another rant on this Lackawanna
County news, the guy goes off on what seems to be a defense of
Doug Lane's constitutional rights.
WEJL/WBAX/ESPN Radio: The place to be when there is a
hot national sports story. They really give it to you from
every perspective. Still haven't changed the Syracuse basketball
promo, "McNamera with the head bob, you know he's feeling it!".
WCDL/WAZL/Not in those areas to report. Have to take a long ride
soon.

Hey Yonkstur....On the 93.7 flipping to oldies;
93.7 is doing JR to protect Magic 93's 25 to 54 adult numbers. Since JR has come on they have pulled Froggy 101's 25 to 54 numbers lower causing them to rank lower than Magic, Rock107, and KRZ in many of the past surveys. If Citadel were smart they would move the country to 97.9.....a signal that could significantly damage Froggy 101. Froggy would lose large shares of audience purely on signal issues. 101.3 has a poor signal in Hazleton city and Berwick and issues in Nanticoke-Plymouth, and the back mountain. 95.9 is poor in Berwick and these areas too. With 97.9's 50,000 watt Penobscot signal they would forever dominate south of Wilkes-Barre and these other achilles heel locations of Froggy. This would result in a stalemate where Froggy would likely get about 60% of the metro country audience and JR on 97.9 would get 40% of the metro country audience (as opposed to the current 82-18 split). When the "X" was on 93.7 it did just fine.....honestly they haven't gained much being on 97.9 versus when they were on 93.7. They should put the "X" back on 93.7 where it chugged along fine. Just my thoughts. By the way, what part of town do you live in??

I live in North Wilkes Barre near King's College. Actually
a block up from King's.
Very good points regarding JR. When I win that Powerball, I'm
going to hire you as a consultant. (Yeah, yeah, I know, I
wouldn't be able to afford you.)

Dear Lord!!! Who took those photos on the WNAK web site? No lighting, blurry, amateurish.

I agree with you completely. You hit the nail right on the head, and I remember having this exact same converstation back in June with people who currently WORK at Citadel. They thought it was a sound idea, but apparently didn't or wouldn't relay it to their superiors.

If it was Ed Histed, who is listed at the bottom as having designed the site, check out HIS home page if you want to see something that's not too hot.

By the way, have you run your mouse over the talents' photos? Do it.

Also, before you do the mouse thing, notice how they are running different boards.
