WNAK (well, they're FM too!) Finally looked at their website.
Very informative, colorful, big print, modulating meters, really
nice. Access for birthdays, community stuff, photos of the
program hosts, contact numbers, etc. Apparently there is a big
guy there by the name of "Rocky" who is the Operations guy, Ira
is the main cheese, well, anyway, it's all listed. They have a
picture of a dog for their overnight program host.
WARM: Finally heard some local ads. A furniture place in Dickson
touting mattresses, and Dr. Frank Bucci. I'm sure there are a
few I missed. It's still Scott Shannon all the time but there
seems to be a rotation. They are repeating songs but they seem
to be good ones. The reception is still poor. One of my grade
school buddies complained the other night that they took his
talk programs off to play oldies. At the table where we were
sitting in a local eatery came a unified response, "So you were
the listener!!!" If Citadel were smart, and they're not, they'd
simulcast WARM on Junior to fill the Oldies void on FM.
WILK: Some very vicious attacks made on Nancy and Kevin on a
thing called Lackawanna County news which is on the web. The
degree of mean spirited comments was incredible. If anything
it tells you the Morning Show is at least appealing to some
sort of basic instinct in NEPA. I know a few people on this
board have dismissed the morning show on WILK but jeez, when
any talent can get this type of reaction, even from someone
way off center, it tells me the duo is hitting some type of
cultural nerve.
WICK: Still sounding very good in both Wilkes Barre and
Scranton. Speaking of WICK, on another rant on this Lackawanna
County news, the guy goes off on what seems to be a defense of
Doug Lane's constitutional rights.
WEJL/WBAX/ESPN Radio: The place to be when there is a
hot national sports story. They really give it to you from
every perspective. Still haven't changed the Syracuse basketball
promo, "McNamera with the head bob, you know he's feeling it!".
WCDL/WAZL/Not in those areas to report. Have to take a long ride
soon.
