Around 12AM this morning, was doing an AM bandscan in Central VA. Lots of Spanish here wiping out the big ones like WOR, WABC, WCBS, and even WSM. I could null them and pick up some of the US stations, but not very clearly. Earlier in the evening at around 8PM it was only on the lower end of the band, but by midnight, it was all across the dial. Southern stations definitely are ruling the band. WWL sounds like a local along with WSB.
I switched over to FM and listened a while too. Picked up my usual 103.3 WESR from the Eastern Shore (200 miles) and several VA Beach stations too, but then also heard Raleigh's 100.7 WRVA-FM. Several other faint stations were heard when I'd null the locals, but I didn't I.D. them as they were fading in and out.
