AM Tampa Bay "A-Hole"?

The Fairness Doctrine was abolished in 1987 by FCC Chairman Mark Fowler. Who was appointed chairman by the Reagan Administration. Under the Fairness Doctine Rush Limbagh was not allowed to go on air and give hate speech.
Rush started his program in 1984 - 3 years before the "Fairness Doctrine" was abolished. He was doing it on KFBK in Sacramento - the state capital in the largest state in the nation.
Or incite violence.
Oh and the media also had to serve in the good of the public. If a TV Station had a news cast they had to keep you informed.

Oh and I'm not letting Clinton off the hook either. He signed the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Thanks to Clinton 2 media companies can dominate an entire market.
That pendulum was already swinging in the direction long before Clinton was a blip on the radar of National politics.
The floodgates opened because the FCC over the years closed them. Had the ownership rules been in place we have now, the media landscape would have looked a lot different than it does today.
Hence Cox and Clear Channel. Which literally killed local radio. Now most radio stations are the same. Voicetracking, Playlist and all. Example, WMTX uses the same computer as all C.C Hot AC Stations. Aside from the Morning and Afternoon Drive. Most everything else is Computerized and syndicated.

Freedom of Speech is Freedom of Speech. However Hate Talk should not be tolerated.
Says Who?

Is it "Freedom of Speech" or freedom FROM speech.

Is it "hate speech" or speech you disagree with.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

If you "disagree" with "conservatives," perhaps you should get rid of the following...
your savings account (conserving money)
reducing energy use (conserving energy and money)
national forests (land conservation)
grocery stores (discrimination of choices (isn't discrimination illegal??))
the original EPA (damn, that conservation thing again)
Civil Rights (blocked in 1958 when LBJ was the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and Eisenhower, a conservative was President, and so called Republicans wanted to bring to a vote to end/abolish inherent racism within the leftist ideology (since Reconstruction)
Libraries (information conservation)
Woodsy Owl
Smokey the Bear
....and as far as the alleged "hate speech," let's call spades spades...it's "We the people," not the "Black Caucus, Hispanic Caucus, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ((NAACP)), Pacific Islander Month et al, nor is it "Press 1 for English," n'est pas?? I HATE Brussel Sprouts...and ignorance. E. Pluribus Unum not seperate but equal.
"Right makes might." Abraham Lincoln. Perhaps the FCC should "moderate" Spanish language stations no?
Now, can we get back to listening to such riveting AM radio-milktoast, bland, sterile, "safe," and of course "fun"-such as the "Big Show" on WWBA?? I need to see what relavent deals I can get on ...AM radios, cosmetic surgery, occular nutritional supplements, medical insurance, compelling Ann Compton *clears throat* interviews, and cheesy '80's "hair band" bumper music.....puulllease??!

Update:
Old Ron Reagan Jr. couldn't let a dead-dog lay. He recently brought up aformentioned topic on C-Span. Hilarious! "Hell hatgh no fury like a woman scourned." Hats off to Ted.

Is that word being used really that big of a deal? When I lived in Tampa Bay in the 90s, it was used all the time on WSUN. You literally couldn't go 20 minutes without it being said.

Funny thing this morning on a WFLA rival station...
During the "Doug Stephan Show," on WWBA 820 AM, this morning, there was a re-play of the dreaded "A-Hole" incident between Ted Webb and Ron Reagan Jr. Just the irony of the whole thing made it even more funny!
Morning talk jockey- $20
Son of a President, pumping a book- $50
Hearing the re-play of the jockey calling the son an a-hole...on a rival station on the same time slot- Priceless!
(Free advertiseing at it's best. LOL!)
