Amp Radio Lineup?

Anyone have any ideas when 103.3 Amp Radio will announce a radio lineup. Or do you believe this station will remain a jock-free radio station? Just curious, if they plan on competing with Jamn 94.5 and Kiss 108, I would assume they would need some live radio talent.

they would almost certainly need live talent to make a dent in WXKS/WJMN ratings. Looking at their playlist post " the commercial-free period", it is a lot tighter than both WXKS and WJMN.

Frankly I don't know if they provide anything to Boston in terms of better competition... it's the same 10 songs in a different order that Kiss plays. Focusing more on EDM would probably yield some success, considering that the format is exploding among high school and college kids. I say that because I just don't see the soccer moms who have listened to Matty jump on this bandwagon.

If they want to stand out from Kiss, they'll have to widen the playlist and add more new songs, as well as more songs from other decades. And if you ask if it'll be jock-free, I think not. The jocks'll all be voicetracked.

This is CBS we're talking about here, not CC. Their Amp/Now stations in other markets have live airstaffs, but I suspect they didn't have them ready to go right in the beginning, which is the way it seems to happen everywhere these days.

The point of CHR seems to elude you.
CHRs play SOME songs from the 90s- Think "Baby Got Back" or "Mo Money Mo Problems". Now keep the 90s to a handful of songs AT MOST-otherwise you'll scare away your audience. Given CHR plays only a few songs from before 2009, I'd even keep the material from the most recent decade light. CHR listeners want the hits as soon as they become hits, hear the hits until they never never want to hear them again, and then never hear them again.

WODS is an AFTRA station, and the CBA there means there's a live body in the studio 24/7.

There will be jocks, and they will be live. They're just being VERY particular about who they hire.

They certainly need to expand the playlist to be more like Sirius BPM..... If they did this they would have a decent station. I got bored with it after the first 2 hours. That's pretty bad.....!

If they REALLY wanted to be a great station they would have a deeper playlist than Sirius bpm.... There's a lot of good high energy dance music out there- They should play it...!!!

Remember WJMN back in 1994?? I do..... :) :) :) ahhh the good ol' days....!!!

The good old days at WJMN. That radio station was awesome back in the mid 90's. The music they played was great. The radio jocks were awesome too.

Where are they now? WJMN jocks 1996-2000 era (I don't remember anything before then)
-Baltazaar- ?
-Peebles- WJMN
-Ralphie Marino-?
-Lady D- ?
-Ramiro- WJMN
-Steve Demann-?
-Kobe ?
-Chuck Dog- ?
-Mark Jordan- ?
-Marc Clark- ?
-Michael Rock- Fun 107
-Neil P The Frat Boy- "Romeo" at Kiss 108
-Deirdre Degata- CBS Boston Weekends?
-Tyler- WSNE

Baltazar's doing mornings at Now 100.5 KZZO in Sacramento, Ralphie Marino does mornings at 94x on Long Island, Lady D does the Friday Night Fix on WXLO in Worcester.

Can someone 'spalin to me the need for Mix now that AMP is here?

Heard the same two songs, back to back, at the same time on both stations just after 5 today. Seems like an awful lot of overlap. Most of the currents are the same. Just more recurrents and gold on Mix. I know that Mix skews older, but by how much?

This plus the fact that the Classic Hits format on WODS had better ratings than Mix have to make one continue to wonder if they flipped the wrong station (assuming flipping anything was a good idea, which remains to be seen).

It came down to demos and the cost to run the station. If WXKS and WJMN have made a good pair, I think WBMX and WODS as Amp can make a good pair.

So, what lineup does everyone think AMP should go with? Any ideas? Also, how much longer do you think the radio station will stay jockless with no air talent?
