Amp Radio Lineup?

I've heard AMP Radio dissing Kiss 108 alot lately. They keep running a sweeper that says something like "Yesterday, AMP Radio played two more hours of music than Kiss. That's 56 songs".

56 songs in two hours? They must have been short songs then.
 
Yeah, that's four hours of music, not two. And that's with short spot loads. Of course, it's not like their audience has the intelligence to figure that out.
 
That is a classic radio swipe. I was living in New York in the mid 80's when WPLJ ran a liner that went something like this...

"(EFX) WPLJ Music Monitor! January 16th...WPLJ played 354 records..ZIT 100 only 305...Remember, NOBODY plays more music than 95.5 WPLJ!"

Same thing...
 
I heard the sweep today, and they say "Yesterday, AMP Radio played over two and a half hours of more music than Kiss, that's 53 songs".
 
Without any spots, you can fit around 15 songs into an hour. 53 or 56 is still more than you can fit into 2 1/2 hrs.
