An FM flip in Pcola?

Intend to.

Plan on getting ready for another day of yard work too.

And yes you're right.

Someone should've done this long time ago.

Anyway, hope the new talk station will do well.

Congrats and best of success to the new WCOA FM.

So, one person says 106.1. The other says 100.7. Guess we find out in an hour!

I would've posted a mea culpa sooner but the site was being all screwy and I couldn't post. ::)

Another posted wondered about 106.5 but I don't think they have anything to worry about since they carry more Cox programming like Neal Boortz and Clark Howard. It's Clear Channel and AM 710 I'm wondering about, since WCOA appears to carry Premiere's two moneymakers, Hannity and Rush. They're also on AM 710, and I had some belief that CC was moving the 100.3 translator from Gulf Shores to Spanish Fort to establish a (tiny) FM beachhead for their programming. At least where those shows overlap it's going to be tough for 710 since Mobile gets some FM overlap from 104.9 Pascagoula and now this assault on 100.7. Should they go through with the 710-to-translator move, you'd have Rush on 100.3, 100.7 and 104.9 in some areas.

Now, for my wish list: kill the stereo carrier, and add "Journey 100" back via HD-2. It was practically the only music station I listened to in this area. :D

I wasn't hoping for this on 100.7 I LOVED THIS station but I'm glad we finally have this going. Now, if they kill the HD feed as the 8 second delay when it clicks is annoying.

What will happen to WFTW now that *** has this on an FM that can be heard in Ft Walton?

Go read their FB page - people are upset, guess it's back to the stereo/mono mix of WWAV. Good luck, *** I'm grateful I got 96.1-2 for Coast.

I went over to Tallahassee on Friday and spent the weekend listening to the garbage placed on News Talk 93.3 to replace the good old Classic Country WGWD used to play. Then on Monday I drove back to Pensacola. Scanning the radio dial I run across some jibber jabber on 100.7. I give it a little time but it just keeps running some guy speaking jibber jabber.

I get closer to Pensacola and flip over to WCOA 1370 and hear regular programing, but my radio display on 100.7 FM says "WCOA-FM". WCOA-FM is just running jibber jabber. WCOA 1370 is running regular right wing talk. WCOA-FM is a frigging waste of a 100kw radio station. Too much jibber jabber. Not much purpose.

Oh, and I was able to lock into 96.1 HD2 WNTM as far out as DeFuniak Springs. WNTM was running normal talk. No jibber jabber.

What the heck happened to Pensacola while I was out working on the farm near Tallahassee and getting the back of my neck and my left arm sunburned?

... was listening to Mike Huckabee last week broadcasting from his studios in "Santa Rosa Beach, Florida".

Does Huckabee have a house with built in studios down the other side of Destin or are there some actual radio studios down that way he uses?

What are your definitions of jibber jabber and regular talk?

poledo,

My wife had Tallahassee's 100.7 on in the car this past Sunday. Every time the clock came to a "local break" there was dead air instead of commercials. At the 4:00 TOH break it went from
the program to dead air..no legal ID..into Fox News. Coming out of the news it went to..dead
air again.

I miss classic country on 93.3 when I'm not at work on my own station. I've been listening to
whatever music channel XM has on DirecTV channel 808. 93.3's change has helped Big D Country. I've jumped from averaging 60-ish listeners a day to 126, 269 and 467! Just trying to get it to FM somehow.

"jibber jabber" is talk radio that has interesting topics but still can't keep my attention. Just check out 100.7. you'll hear it.
