It is an easier sell, of course.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

We have all these stations selling to younger demos, such as 93.3, 94.1, 95.7, 98.7, 100.7 and 101.5. We have plenty going after an older demo, 104.7, 105.5, 106.3(For northern Tampa Metro) ,107.3. Where is the stations for a 50-50 mix of males and females in between.

94.9 is probably the closest thing covering middle ground. 100.7 could just lose the Lady Gaga and CHR stuff and go back to its roots. That means Mix should be playing more Adult Rock. More Counting Crows and KT Tunstall, less Gaga and Rihanna.

I'm still in favor for a station playing 80's and 90's hits with some Adult Rock flavoring from today.

Sample Hour of 80's/90's Adult Hits with some 2000's music

Oh L'amour"- Erasue
Walk on the Ocean- Toad the Wet Sprocket
Blue Monday- New Order
Because the night, 10,000 Maniacs
Billie Jean- Micheal Jackson
Whats the Frequency Kenneth- R.E.M
Yellow- Coldplay
All that She Wants- Ace of Base
Tom's Diner- Suzanne Vega
Holiday- Madoona

I got a question, why doesn't 97x play 80's Alternative other than Sunday School. Why can't they add Echo and the Bunnymen. Depeche Mode, The Smiths, R.E.M, Janes Addiction, Violent Femmes, The Church and others to the playlist. 0-Rock 105-9 mixed music like that in the regular playlist.

A radio company in Tampa could release a 80's and 90's Classic Alternative channel. 98.7 or 97x will be good. Jangle Pop, New Wave, Punk Rock and music from Independent Labels is where you start. Bauhaus, R.E.M, The Clash, X, Echo and The Bunnymen, Morrissey, The B-52's and Depeche Mode will be staple artists. You could also play music from Elvis Costello, The Velvet Underground and Jesus and Mary Chain.

I would focus on the 80's mainly due to the 90's Grunge burn-out. The 90's I would focus on would be Toad the Wet Sprocket, Weezer, Electronic, Citizen King, They Might Be Giants, Barenaked Ladies.

70'S could be stuff from David Bowie, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Buzzocks, Joan Jett, The Vibrators and Patti Smith. Punk Rock will be the key.

Heck 102.5 could have this format on weekends.
