And The Burn-Outs Just Keep On Comin'

Pretty much any novelty song wears out QUICKLY. Don't Worry, Be Happy...Who Let The Dogs Out...La Macarena...I guess novelty songs could be yet another thread...

Take A Letter, Maria - RB Greaves
You're No Good - Linda Ronstadt

How, oh HOW, could we have missed The Mother Of All Crispness:

KOKOMO, Bleach Boys (hork...)

Savage: Walk off home run, driven over the right field wall landing somewhere on North Sheffield Avenue.

Orleans, "Still The One." Used to be "our song." She's still the one, but we can do without the song.

Contributing to this song's Crispy Critter Factor is the fact it was the ABC television network theme song for the 1977 season, so we were pummeled with it that season on the tube.

George Dubba-ya tried to use it for his 2004 campaign until songwriter and Orleans member John Hall ordered an immediate C&D.

And now, back to the countdown...

In honor of the perpetual 97 Rock Memorial Day Weekend #1 and #2 I bring back an oldie but goodie thread (tired of hearing about W**K ;)) and give you Stairway to Heaven & Free Bird.

What a welcome respite and strange that it resurfaced. I heard the Eagles "Lyin' Eyes" twice in the last two days and thought of this thread. It once was a great song, but it's been crispified.

Michelle, Beats. You've Got A Friend, James Taylor. Alone Again (Naturally), Gilbert "go dive off that tower already" O'Sullivan.

Man, Bob. You really HA-A-A-ATE that song :) - Alone Again (Naturally).
That songs reminds me of the day the contractors came and built our garage at home - summer of '72. That's all they played. No I don't take a liking to the song myself.

How 'bout Carl Carlton's Everlasting Love?

Did anyone get sick of hearing Captain 'N Tennile's Love Will Keep Us Together in '75? That summer - that song got played to death. Ugh.

Let's see......what else does Legends play?
Just kiddin' guys.

Wow...how did I miss this thread??

If I think about it long enough, I could think of a pile of these...many of them have been already mentioned but here are a few of my personal all-time burnouts not already mentioned (or I don't think they were already mentioned):

James Taylor - "How Sweet It Is" (To Be Loved by You); "Your Smiling Face"
Starship - "Sara"
Natalie Imbrulgia - "Torn"
Van Morrison - "Brown Eyed Girl"
Billy Joel - "Just The Way You Are" (3:27 edit)

Was not aware Black is Black, Cecilia, Paint It Black were burn outs.
Here in DFW those never get played, so when I played them I thought they were long lost hits, (Cecilia and Black is Black Anyway), Paint It Black isn't played here by anyone but me either.

I don't have another burn-out to throw on top of the pile, I just wanted to make it a "Polish Triple Crown" at the top of the B/NF/R charts! :D
