"Oh Me Oh My, I'm A Fool For You Baby" - Lulu

Can't believe I didn't think of that one, inasmuch as it is one of my favorite songs.
Well there's a borderline oxymoron for ya :-\

Tell me about it! I even requested it once! I'm moving onto the months of the year.

September Morn - Neil Diamond

Seeing as Mr. Savage has extended the "foolishness" for a day I can't believe I didn't list The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again". Definitely not a stiff. I'll toss plain ol' "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire onto Silkie's monthly pile. "September" could also double as a song used in a tv commercial if we want to start dueling threads under Rad's Stiffs umbrella.

Let's pause briefly for a mid-chart lover's salute to the beginning of this most Solid Gold of threads which began some 7,200 hits ago on October 21, 2008.

I would pay someone to publish a list of the titles mentioned in these 47 pages of Picks To Click. Great stuff.

WOW...you're way late. Already compiled. The history of radio. Ready to go when Savage is ready to test market on his towers! And to sweeten the deal, we'll figure him for Morning drive (he ain't gonna pass it up-just read his posts - he's primed). Think of it - "Savage in the Morning" on WXXX (gee even the triple X ain't bad for today's society).
Naaaa - reality check :(

It Might As Well Rain Until September - Carol King

Speaking of themes, how about these United States of America? Let's see there's Arizona, Indiana Wants Me, New York New York, California Dreamin', California Sun, New York Groove, New York Mining Disaster, Rainy Night In Georgia, Georgia On My Mind, Massachusetts, Kentucky Woman, Kentucky Rain, It Never Rains In Southern California, Sweet Home Alabama, California Girls, etc. Chew on that for awhile and see if y'all some more tiles to the tower.

And keeping with the thread, a theme that's a stiff: The Beach Boys cover of "California Dreamin'" -- and a non-stiff, "Carolina, No"

There's even a contribution from Barry Manilow, "Brooklyn Blues." Stayin' near the Bronx, how about Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" After our tour of the Big Apple, we can Shuffle Off to Buffalo.

and a non-stiff, "Carolina, No"
Hmmm - I'm giving you the typo on that - "Caroline, No" ...but it was a stiff - never even charted for the Beach Boys. ???

Idaho by The Four Seasons. A genuine, bonafide, guaranteed stiff....but featuring one of the all-time great lines: "My Ida...sweet as apple cidah."

Also, keeping with the states: Vicki Lawrence sang The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia, which wasn't a stiff then but probably isn't played much any more.

And as long as Penrod mentioned Manilow's Brooklyn Blues, let's not forget Neil Diamond's Brooklyn Roads.

In keeping with the theme, I submit to you: "Massachusetts" by the Bee Gees. But that's not what I came here for. A few days ago I was working in a loading dock and a truck pulls in with the radio blasting "The Happy Organ" by Dave 'Baby' Cortez. Must have had XM-Sirius or cassette or CD. I thought about the title of the song and laughed. Okay Mr. Savage, there you have it, the perfect set-up.

Ida ho. Whole new meaning to the song these days...

I think it's time for Radknowski to break out his radio chops. Technology has changed. Download Audacity, buy a USB mic, and crank up that computer.

STIFFRADIO.COM

"The Stiffs Just Keep On Comin'"

C'mon, Mike. The world awaits.

Ah, but the flip side of "The Happy Organ" was a little cha cha number called, "Rinky Dink"

Savage? He's the only one who can run with this idea??? Hrrumph.

And now, presenting the theme song for Stiffradio.com: The Happy Organ.

;D

Stiffradio.com - The Stiffs Just Keep On Comin'

Stiffradio offers a second chance to songs that climaxed too soon, leaving both artists and record companies unsatisfied.

Brought to you by Viagra.

To be fair, I recall DB suggesting this very sponsor a couple months ago...

He's the only one trying out for the gig on this thread. All digital - no aircheck submitted for consideration. Just read between the lines. (damn auditions) :D

How 'bout following up The Happy Organ with....

Year sing....1958

Patricia - Perez Prado

::)

Followed by Peter Gunn Theme, Henry Mancini. BTW, This video is a two-fer, with the legendary Steve Allen introducing Mancini and a flat out, stone cold, drop dead sensational Tonight Show band. Check the solos.
