Told ya so.
Being new to Cincy when Furman was fired from WLW last year, I expressed surprise that all the attention the "prominent" sportstalker was receiving. Having lived and worked in many markets, Furman seemed very average to me at best. Not horrible, just okay. However, I was shouted down about his supposed dominance on WLW--all without numbers to back it up, of course. He supposedly would do the same for Supertalk.
Well, a year later Furman made absolutely no appreciable impact on 96.5. He's now gone and the station flipped.
Was this Furman's fault? No, but it does show how Furman's prominence was built by being on a big stick, not his overwhelming talent. Furman does seem like a decent guy and I wish him well, but two monkeys and a banjo would get respectable ratings on a stick like WLW...
