Ankarlo, first show, what did you think?

OK, show isn't over yet, only 90 minutes through.

So far, he kissed up to Phil Gordon, kissed up to Glendale mayor Elaine Scruggs and kissed up to Tempe mayor Hugh Hallman. And talked about the Fiesta Bowl game.

One caller so far, from Texas talking about missing him.

He addressed the Ruelas article about him, and assured us, that in fact, he would be edgy.


So far, he is as edgy as a marshmallow.

I'm willing to give him a few weeks, but, so far its hardly compelling.

Let the games begin.
 
I haven't had a chance to listen to either Darrell or Carlo, but I'm sure TMISU are getting a bargain-- two hosts for the price of one!!! ;D

I can't wait to listen to the Darrell and Carlo show. ;)
 
Just a note, now he is absolutely kissing Arpaio's posterior.

Hey Ankarlo, do some research on Sherrif Joke before you develop a crush on him. Go read the volumes of info on him at New Times. If you are gonna cover this city, you better start learning all sides, rather than just believing press releases.

Sure sounds like another "Safe" KTAR talkshow host, don't want to offend anyone in power. KTAR will remain the mouthpiece and safe harbor for every politician to come and get free fawning press.
 
Did certainly seem to be kissing up with Gordon and Arpaio! Not that I expected real hard hitting stuff on the first show of the year, but he does seem to be setting himself up in the KTAR mold. Go along and get along with the powers that be!!

Research? It will never happen. Having listened to dumb ol' Darrell in Dallas, I can assure you that he never allows facts get in the way of his opinions.
 
I found the part where McBland was trying to clue him in on Phoenix to be surreal. He gave him some videos about AZ (I think the ones McBland hosted) and told him about how important Wallace and Ladmo are.

Then, at the end of the show, he kissed up to the Chief of Police guy, talked again at length about the Fiesta bowl with Dave Burns, and I think he took one other call total. Wonder if he will allow any dissenting callers on?

When will he meet Edna from Sun City? When will he eat at Bill Johnsons?

Bring back Przztn! I pick May 18th as the first 100 degree day!!! Monsoon will start August 4th!!!

Did Ned and Connie--or Darrell and Carlo--explain why they're now handing off the AMD news to the talkfest at 8:30 instead of 9:00?

I think Arizona should not go to Daylights Savings Time so we can keep on confusing our friends and relatives back East.

The only reason Aunt Carlos had Phil Gordon and Captain Stupor on was to make sure Edna from Sun City and Irv from Seizure World didn't code out on his first day! That Tony Bennett rejoiner had Nurse Jeff and me thinking Star 97~five was MOVIN' to 92~three, where Hip Hop used to live. :eek:

But here's the spin from the Buckeye Media Hut...sure is a lot more competitive than Pat McBland against the Nearly Bald One on KFWhyEye. Starting Aunt Carlos at 8:30 is smart and letting him go to Noon is even smarter.

What Nurse Jeff and I can't figure out is the news hour at noon. Way too long, but we figure the Men In Secret Underwear have to hide Paul Harvey somewhere..so why not during the last hour of El Rushbo on 5~fifty?

Captain Stupor from 1 - 4pm sounds even more out of place than ever. It's fishing in a trout pond for Sean Hannity, and he'll reel in enough for Edna, Irv & Zumahans to enjoy a fish fry at Bill Johnson's Big Apple. Heidi & Ded Simons at 4pm? About as entertaining as an Amber Alert. It's roadkill for the Evil Joe Crummey and KFWhyEye. Ya~hoo, come 'n git it!

After 7pm...YIKES! Five hours of Kid & Gaydos followed by Larry King. The Nurse and I haven't heard a train wreck as bad as this since Twice 103~five.

Aunt Carlos is an improvement, but TMISU have a lot more work to do. C-

If you go to his website and read his meanderings and most importantly, the feedback, it speaks volumes.

I honestly think he doesn't allow negative posts there, its all fawning from yahoos.

I predict a very boring time from 8:30 till Noon, for a while. At least with Przztn and Jay Lawrence you could laugh at their ineptness (what is this internet thing anyway?) Aunt Carlos just sounds like an ultra safe teacher's pet suckup who won't take phone calls.

As for Pat, it was cutting edge, he had an astrologer give readings on the air, he should have asked abou the ratings.
 
Haha, "Aunt Carlo". Excellent, considering that when he gets excited, his whiney little voice goes waaay high.

In Dallas, once a week he'd have the Mayor call in for a long, boring butt-kissing session. It looks like he's going to do the same in Phoenix. As an added bonus, he'll spend lots of time telling his audience all about it, both before and after the actual call.

As far as taking dissenting calls, if you're dumb-sounding, you'll get right through. If you've got an intelligent argument, he'll screen you out. He's got almost no logic at all in his arguments, but will happily beat up on a caller if he thinks he can get away with it.

One of the best was when someone told him, simply, to "grow up" after he made a particularly dumb statement. Many, many seconds of dead air ensued.
 
Great, now we have Aunt Carlo doing middays, and Aunt Fraud doing mid-afternoons. ;D

The Nurse and I'll take Aunt Carlos over Barry Markson on KFWhyEye any day! It's great having Joe Crummey back in PMD. We don't care if his show comes from Pico Rivera, the Evil One is far more entertaining than three hours of Ded Simons & Heidi Fogelsong doing schtick with Detour Dan and Ed Phillips!

Anyone got the answer to this question? When will KT'R come up with additional bumper music? Aunt Carlos has his own, but the others get "Love Is A Battlefield" at least twice a shift. ???
