Ann Curry Out At "Today"??

Isn't it funny that we all assume they will go with another woman? What if NBC completely surprised us and put someone like Ryan Seacrest in, and he serves as the heir apparent until Matt Lauer steps down.

I think there is approximately zero percent chance of two men at the helm of "Today" but I just thought I'd throw it out there...
 
No, there will be a female co-host. Ever since the first "Today Girl" (Estelle Parsons) joined the show shortly into its run there has been a woman on the show, and since Barbara Walters joined in 1966 there has always been a female co-host.

Hate that it's happening to Ann Curry -- as someone else pointed out, she doesn't come across as a walking ego trip.  Dare I say, I do find her a bit pleasing to the eyes.  I'm pretty sure that she'll land on her feet elsewhere ... as others have demonstrated, there is life beyond the peacock.

Jenna should/(will) be the one sitting next to Matt Lauer!
 
Yeah, NBC has a thing for the children of celebrities in recent years. Jenna Bush, Chelsea Clinton, Luke Russert, Maria Shriver ... But I think only one of them will be able to claim they co-hosted Today even once, and that is Mrs. Shriver.
 
In fact Ms. Shriver and Mr. Schwarzenegger are no longer married after an affair the governator had was revealed.

I'm sticking with my prediction. There are plenty of in-house help who can fill in when Regis wants to take off, but Regis has the name to bring in his fans and new viewers.
 
Perhaps the reason Amy Robach left NBC is because she heard rumors about Ann Curry being shown the door and figured she had a chance to take Ann's place since Robach was already featured on Saturday's Today Show. When Robach was either told, or found out, that she wasn't the choice to replace Curry, she bolted and left for ABC News.
