Another AMPer hits the bricks

For better or for worse, most people will say "WAZY is the 50K watt Top 40 radio station in Lafayette Indiana".

Only those who have lived there for over 20 years.

but I'm saying they have their hands full ever trying to make a MAJOR change for that frequency. It would take literally YEARS to make people think of Z-96/Z-96-5 as anything else but what it's been known as since the 80's.

It has been years...and there were major changes. How many people live in Lafayette now that lived in Lafayette in the 80's? How many of them care about Top 40 radio now?

A teen type who loved Z96 would be almost 40 now....

Nobody over 35 is listening to WAZY according to the last year of ratings.

They are trying to hang on to that perception that built the empire and now they can't change it. That's my point.

They are trying to still be relevant, but doing it with an outdated image and mentality.

You're absolutely right, someone in their 40's probably enjoyed them 20 years ago (many stations ago, and many formats for other stations ago).
