Another Big 89 Rewind

Sure it doesn't apply to DFW, but WLS will do the Big 89 Rewind again on Monday, Memorial Day. Lujack and Lil' Tommy, John Records and the gang will all be back doing what they do best. Starts at 5 AM and I assume it will be streamed online.

Thanks for the heads up. The first one was a blast and brought back many a memory. We listened to WLS quite a bit back in the 70's when KLIF powered down and KRRV in Sherman went off at midnight. The ZEW and Q102 pretty much ended our time listening to WLS.

I streamed most of it that day but went out and sat in my truck and listened to the last two hours. Good music from that time period (most of it) heard the way it was intended to be.......on scratchy AM mono. ;D

I'll have to try and get on "Boogeycheck" again this year... I actually called in and got on last year with my hero John "Records" Landecker!

Ok Steve, which one were you? The nut jokester or the one visiting Rosie O'Donnell to stay in the shade? :)=

Hi everyone...it's been awhile since I've been here!

First up, here's the schedule for the day:

6a-9a.........Chuck Knapp
9a-12N.......Larry Lujack/Tommy Edwards
12N-3p.......Fred Winston
3p-6p..........Bill Bailey
6p-10p........John Records Landecker
10p-12m.....Jeff Davis

I was part of last year's support crew for the broadcast and ran the board for 9 of the 19 hours. Unfortunately, I am on the air on 106-5 The Arch here in St. Louis on Memorial Day 10a-3p (www.1065thearch.com) so I can't make it to Chicago to help out again.

Everyone will be live in Chicago this time. Last year, Larry did his part via ISDN from New Mexico and Jeff Davis was in Los Angeles.

Also, take this one from me...I was schooled by JRL himself on this topic: Don't put quotation marks around his middle name! Records truly is his middle name (not a cute radioguy invention) and as such should not be in quotes. It's actually his mother's maiden name!

I miss North Texas...had a blast while I was there!

I just hope they dont distort the stream audio like they did at times last year (and I KNOW it wasnt you who did that Jay ;).....and then I STILL need to get a copy of the off air logger from last year!! I am buying a NEW 500GB HD just for this year ;)

Heck if I had time, I'd love to be there and run the board.....eeehhh but airplane tickets to CHI is probably outrageous this late....and Amtrack takes too damn long :(

HMmm maybe I'll put on an 890 down here for the day and feed the stream to it. One of my neighbors is a retired TV engineer...he would get a kick out of it :)
