Another Clear Channel Spinoff....

Racer X is correct about Bryan-College Station. If it weren't for the Mays family ties to Texas A&M, B/CS would have been sold. As for Waco, you are correct, as well. But I'll add one more thought. Although Arbitron considers Waco and Killeen as separate markets, CC considers them as one...equivalent to Market 93. The cluster pulls-in more than $10 million per year. WACO-FM (country) pulls in more than $3 million per year alone...and consistently cumes over 135,000.

Makes sense, somewhat anyway. Don't forget, also, that Clear Channel indicates in its FCC filings that it will have to unload one Waco FM when it goes private (assuming that deal happens).

CC has an office in Killeen for prizes and sales....but studios are in Waco

As Ross Perot would say "Heres the Deal".....CC will eventually get rid of stations that are below market 100 and may go even higher. Why? Well lets see to use Corpus Christi and Houston as an example. In Corpus they bill anywhere between $6-$7m annually with six stations, in Houston they do that in sx months on just one station. If hypothetically they are billing $20-$35m in Houston (Could be more) and let say the profit margin is 30% in both markets then you do the math. It will happen eventually, the selling of the markets. As long as they have had some of them they could eventually clear a great deal of debt in the meant time.
