So being the typical middle aged male, I took my 20 something girlfriend to the Project Revolution concert yesterday. So besides the weather being hotter than Lindsey Lohan's [EDIT], the concert was pretty amazing. I still say Linkin Park is one of the better live bands to come around in a long time, but that would be a topic for another day. Something that one couldn't help but notice was the obvious lack of 99X's presence anywhere at Lakewood. The Project was out in full force with minions handing out all kinds of stuff. They had a booth on both sides and their van/truck outside the main entrance. They did the typical and expected broadcast from inside and backstage. Now I get it that the Project was the sponsoring station so they had to be there, but what kept 99X from sending some people down there for what was one of the bigger rock shows to roll thru town this summer? All the bands that performed on the mainstage have been played on 99X. Obviously some more than others. And please don't give the "it's not their target demo" crap. That was one of the most diverse crowds I've ever seen at a full fledged rock concert.
Any rational thoughts (or smarta$$ opinions)?
