Another hacky morning show...this time its DaveFm

Don't know if its true but...its gotta be good. I mean he has 2 Z's in his AND his last name in Tyler. That's Rock N' Roll Bitches, err, sorry, bitches, lower case. My mistake.

The Zakkster? I was hoping for Wachs or a Baron/Von Haessler/Andrews show, but I'll listen and check it out. It's got to be better than the current morning show on the Davester, or the rest of Atlanta morning radio which belongs in the dumpster.

Well, if this is true at least Mike Wheeler's pulled talent from #3 Chicago instead of, oh, I don't know, Tampa, maybe?

I didn't listen to any of his bits or anything but clearly this his credentials are a lot better than Giant Brian's were. Giant Brian has been on for two or three months now and still there is no buzz about it. Every time I listen I just pretty bored with it.

Also how do we know if he is the new morning show or the new afternoon show? He did afternoons in Chicago. It could be an attempt to bring personality to both the morning and afternoon shows. Revamp the whole line-up add more Rock and go after the Male demo. They could be to males what the River is to women and my brother-in-law.

Ok I know I am just dreaming. No way would they do a toal revamp of the line-up. Esier to just plug the biggest hole and patchwork the rest.

He's been around. Worked in San Jose before Chicago. Although he went umemployed for a year between gigs. I will say that that's radio though. Yes, he's more seasoned than Giant Brian but the song parodies? Yuuuccckkk...

That was so 1990.

It's still gotta be better than Giant Brian, that shows got nothing.

Kinda like adding a "ster" after your name... I'm still going to give this guy a chance at a preset button on the Riprockster's radio. I'd love to have a local FM morning show to listen to again.

We heard a lot of this same kind of stuff before the Giant Brian show was wheeled out. Many names were coming here in different incarnations. I will believe when I hear it.

It hasn't been officially announced but it's definitely official.

Well.....I wanted Bob Rivers.....but maybe the Zackster will suffice.
What is all this "sniffing" over song parodies?? Since when did intelligence become out of fashion?

Since when did song parodies = intelligence? Lets see, let's use someone else's song, change the words and make it my own. Parodies stink! Just my opinion though.

Well by and large song parodies dn't cut it for me but some are ok. 12 - 15 years later I still singa parody from Imus. Ruch Limbaugh singing Garth Brooks "Friends in Low Places" became "I Like Friends with White Faces." I still sing those words every time I hear that Garth Brooks song. Imus I thought actually had good song parodies at times because it wasn;t just a parody it was an impersonation of someone. Spare your Imus sucks comments. I listened to him since the 70's so to me his was the first time shock jock who crossed the line. He was the original for me at least. I realize he is not the same now but I guess that is what happens with you give up the vodka and coke.

Zakk's show is sorely missed in Chicago. He was #1 in his target demographic on the afternoon drive which is not easy in the #3 Chicago market. He achieved these ratings without a lot of promotion from his former station which only focused marketing on the morning show. He does a great job interacting with his audience. It was the kind of show that made me go out of my way to listen. Atlanta is lucky to get him.
