I know he usually only works Monday-Wednesday, but it would be worse to not have him at all. He is the unquestioned King of all Medi for a reason. Ideally I'd rather be be on the air through Thursday with the same vacation schedule. He earned the time off but still owes it to the fans to be on all that he can.

Adios Sirius,yeah ok!
I love the people who come on here and complain about Howard,then say they are going to cancel.Is that all you think is on Sirius?The service is great and I'd have to say,theres other things to listen to,so why cancel,at least I get some variety with sirius,here in NY,most stations either sound the same,dont offer most of the formats that sirius does or play the same crap over and over.
Im going to get an ipod or stick to regular fm,yeah then you have to either bear the commercials or pay for each song,how can you experience new music?
Heck I dont get it,Howard is great,but its only one channel.....

I quit Sirius when Howards' new contract went into effect, because I was disgusted by the deal. Even though I enjoy listening to him, I feel he is taking advantage of the loyalty of his audience. It's even more disrespectful now that he's working a second job. You might not have a problem with it but I do, which is why I dumped Sirius.
It's kind of like having a girlfriend that you have great sex with one night a week but the other six nights she's off doing other guys. It might be fun, but it's also a slap in the face.

I usually listen to Howard in the morning on my way to work bt lately he's on vacation or only working Monday-Wednesday. Now instead of listening to the replay or on days he's not on, on my way home from work I listen to is new radio host, Tommy G, on my iPhone at www.tommygshow.com. He's a lot like Stern and above all, he's entertaining and discussing the topics I want to hear. Great place to hear traffic and weather too.

Actually Howard would show his caring side, especially for the victims & their familys. You would hear his other side when talking about the shooter. Howard discussed this once how when something terrible happens or a famous person passes on it seems to always be at the start or during one of his vacations. His fans call it the curse of Howard Stern because they want to hear what he has to say about whetever happened, but are stuck waiting until he returns from vacation. But in reality famous people pass on and tragedys like this one (albeit rare thank goodness) occur all the time.
According to what I heard today on Howard 100 News, Howard is back live on Wednesday morning, January 2, 2013. Then, the regular Monday-Wednesday schedule resumes January 7.
Poor Howard, worked just over a month from the holiday break, and now he needs to take off for Valentines day, all week. I wish I had his work week. When his contract is up in 3 years, he is right, he is done at Sirius, because the new owners are going to throw him out.
He's off again this week. That means he was off for the holidays in late December and early January. Then a week in mid-February. And now a week in early March.
I know Howard has a contract where he only works so many weeks a year. I understand that and respect that. I record when he's on so I always have some fresh Stern material to listen to, even when he's on vacation. The weeks he is on, he does about 17 or 18 hours of material and I certainly can't hear all that in a week. I'm not in the car or listening to Howard on a portable device that many hours a week. Sometimes I want music or news or other talk programming anyway.
I think those who complain are really complaining about their own convenience. Unless you're a truck driver, how could you hear all 4 1/2 hours a day? If you wake up at 7am and you miss the first hour, you still want him to give you fresh material on Thursday and Friday, even though you missed the first hour Mon-Tue-Wed.?
My only question is, why is Stern taking off a week in mid-February and again the first week in March? Why use up vacation time in the winter when he can't enjoy the Hamptons house and he isn't doing AGT? It's not like he's yachting in the Carribean or skiing in Aspen. He doesn't like to travel, even for to warm weather vacation spots in the winter.
Then this summer, he'll be complaining that he has to work at the same time AGT is on, or when he wants to be in the Hamptons. Doesn't make sense.
