Ex-Clemson Announcer Frith/Shannon Dies At 63
Condolences to family and friends of SOUTH CAROLINA radio personality and former CLEMSON UNIVERSITY football and basketball color commentator JAMES 'ROCKY' FRITH, also known as SCOTT SHANNON, who died WEDNESDAY at a nursing home in ANDERSON, SC of complications from a stroke he suffered in 1994, according to the ANDERSON INDEPENDENT-MAIL. FRITH was 63.
He served as color commentator for CLEMSON games in 1972-78 and again in the 1980's, and worked at WANS-A and WAIM-A/ANDERSON and the old WFBC-A/GREENVILLE.
