I remember Dana and Chris Clare being the only ones without the "bear" names
funny thing....i worked there about 6 months or so...don't remember meeting Donnie
He was the one that stayed with the Bear until the end (i believe)

WAZY hasn't always sounded large market. It only recently sounded like a large market station in 2004, and might've been the best sounding CHR in Indiana at that time. Now, not even close. I'd say WNOU would be first (not that it sounds great, but it is in a good size market, and WNDV would be second. U-93 has sounded pretty good for a while now. Good jocks and imaging. The music is a bit off but that's what happens when you add a lot of "money records".

Donnie stayed until the end. Went to Evansville, I think.

I would agree with the mid to late 80's being the WAZY Glory Days. It was fun, there was personality, and the numbers were pretty darn solid even when they weren't #1, 12+.

Angotti bought the stations in the summer of '88 and the downhill slide began soon after. I think it was either the Spring or Fall '89 book that WASK-FM (now WKOA) took over the top spot. I believe WAZY's highest #s came in the Fall '84(might have been Spring) book when the 12+ hovered around the mid-30's. I was lucky enough to be around for some of that and I can tell you I have never experienced market domination to that degree before or since. Some great talent moved through that building on South 18th Street.
