Any Class A FMs available in Pittsburgh for 1 mil?

Are there any available Pittsburgh market, Class A FM Radio Stations available for sale for 1 - 2 million dollars?

If you represent a station or know of any for sale, please reply to this message. I presently own a Christian Radio Station and would like to reach the Pittsburgh market with live and local Christian Music & Personalities. josh

Let's see, xm41. I count WPKV, WORD-FM, and WAOB-FM, plus some translators (leaving AM stations
out of the equation) -- and those three stations are vastly different. That's hardly overkill.

On the other hand, we probably have three hundred thousand stations playing some variety of Classic
Rock/Classic Hits (okay, I exaggerate, but not by much), and I've had all the John Cougar Mellencamp
I can stand.

Guess that's still too much for some....

And would this so called station actually play music during the week, and cover the musical black hole that is WORD and WAOB?

No, it's not local, but I think WPKV-98.3 fills the CCM hole rather nicely. Indeed, oddly enough, it is probably why WORD is putting more PR into its weekend CCM ... and it is why WAVL-910 dumped WAY-FM in favor of Talk Radio Network and ABC fare.

By the way, oddity if you will, I was scanning over a recent weekend and hit a WORD-101.5 "Pittsburgh's favorite Christian music on the weekend" then "Sympathy for the Devil" next door on WDVE-102.5.

Also, ironic that someone suggested $1 million for an FM. Eddie Edwards was considering buying an FM (probably for more than $1 M but possibly not as much as the $8.9 M deal St. Joseph Missions pulled off for WAOB). He had announced his $500,000 deal for WPYT-660 and said he planned to invest $1 M in a Forest Hills facility for a black-oriented news-talk station, a deal which collapsed because of his health problems.

I still am disappointed in Pittsburgh radio. It used to be better than Richmond Va, but now Richmond has a lot more musical diversity. In Tampa, all the religious stations are in the non-commercial band except for translators. Seems cities in the Bible Belt that I have lived in have not succumbed to faith based programming in prime time like WAOB, 98.3, and WORD. Maybe Pittsburgh is actually a better market for this. I really have no problem with stations like "Spirit", but if prime time owners like Sheridan and Keymarket sell out city grade signals, something must be wrong.

JC vs. JCM: The Ultimate Deathmatch.

I would imagine that JC and JCM would be on the same side-------at least my idealized versions. ::) Although they don't look alike anymore

WAOB and 98.3 are religious because the owners were in financial distress and these were the only operators who had the cash they needed. And 98.3 was not sold, K-love is leasing it.

I think Johnny baby is way cool and I'd always be Jack's Diane. He is always doin his best James Dean.

I agree with Mr. Ingram- I've heard all the John Cougar Mellencamp I can stand as well.

What to do you expect when tight playlist radio burns out classic artist's songs by overplaying them? That's the biggest objection to all the vintage music formats. We've heard all the old "hits" we can stand.

But they can no longer sit behind the Tastee Freez here in Pittsburgh as the last franchise shut down a few years ago. :-<
