Everyone -not some - at WAQZ except the program director was shown the door. The Wolf retained Ken and Kitty in the morning, and Jesse Tack for afternoon drive when they acquired the Star from Cumulus. There was a live body on tonight after 7 that I did not recognize.
So far as I know, no offers have been extended to the former WAQZ staff. I expect that Entercom will go for some heavy hitters to build up the new station.

Any word on what became of Chris Clare and Dawn Micheals from Star? Did they stay with Cumulus or go to Entercom?

WOW...Dawn was let go!!! I can't believe she wasn't offered a job at the Wolf?? I am concerned about her and Chris Clare. I used to work with both of them. I'm sure both will land on their feet.

Yeah it is. Are you working now and where, radio or tv? I'm doing voiceover work. The cincy market sucks. Its great that you have the same people on the air here for years and years, but it makes it harder to get in. Doesn't anyone move!! That's the whole point of getting into radio. Anyway, after the whole bs at the star and why Mike and I were fired, I decided to do voiceover work. The pay is great and I set my own hours. Hope all is well with you!!

Yes. Afternoon Saturday. Don't know if that's a permanent thing, but at least he's working. Dawn, due to her tenure in radio, will probably face an uphill battle getting a gig at the level she is accustomed to.

Right. In other words, she will have to do more work for less pay, which is pretty much what I said in my previous post.
As for who faces an uphill battle, I'm not taking sides - but it's easier to get a job in radio if you already have a job in radio. Dawn faces a challenge in actually getting paid what she's worth, considering her experience level. That said, there are always other markets to consider, but I think the picture is pretty much the same in a lot of places.
From what i know, Dawn will be in fine shape sooner than you think. Maybe a nice shiny clear new Christmas present is just around the corner...Maybe another cincinnati debut coming soon???? Stay tuned...what might have a bee and a wolf looking over their shoulders? (do bees have shoulders? we know they don't have a spine) I wonder if Ken and Kitty would enjoy having some more fun.
As for Chris Clare, it baffles me as to why he's even in radio and why someone thought he should be afternoons on the star. I guess Steve G did a coin toss with Chris's 2 headed coin? It was always a good laugh for some of us at other stations around town, but not because he was funny. Clearly...there were people in positions at Star that shouldn't have been.

Dana Race...now that's a name i haven't heard in awhile. would dana be interested in a radio career again? maybe she could get a Christmas present too. So many good people came and went at the star/the eagle/the new 96.5/young country y96...it's hard to keep track. How could i forget the mike and dana show. I'm wondering if cumulus did let everyone go that had to stay behind from the star. so far we know chris talked his way into a weekend gig, i did hear doug dixon over the weekend, i know about dawn, jesse and ken and kitty at the wolf, james austin haven't heard him anywhere, erica west i haven't heard, and then there were a couple other part timers i think...who do we have waiting in the batters cage?

Well..that's not certain. Cincinnati..from what I've seen..isn't the highest paying market by any means. I made more in smaller markets..working less desirable dayparts... She could easily drop a bunch of markets..and end up on top. It depends on who's in charge where she's going..

Umm, yeah. I'm not interested in flame wars. Sounds like there's a lot of personal baggage in the last few posts. The point here is that it's not easy to get a job in any market, no matter what your name is.
