Any jocks on any of the new station?

no personal baggage at all wylly. just feel there were a few in the star ranks that shouldn't have been where they were and it hindered them a lot. but the fun will begin very soon...i promise. this market isn't done with shakeup...i'll have a lemonaide one please. and yes, a few old star jocks might show up sooner than everyone expects and in THIS market. It will be good to have some good old fashioned competitive radio again right? it's not about sour grapes or anything. Radio in this market is NOT fun and hasn't been for quite a long time, the talant is bored and the listeners are bored. a lot of listeners seemed to be excited at the possibilities of something new on 94.9 and 97.3 but what they got was let down again.

now wylly...what's with the name calling? i don't think cincy was meaning to hurt your feelings. this is a great place to voice your opinion, but you don't have to become defensive. there will be "mudslinging" on here from time to time, but isn't that typical of radio?

ahh..what's a little mud slingin'!

Childish?

eh..yeah. but you'll notice I was just observing to the posts..not contributing. The facts are that people were stepped on for another person's personal gain..and as a result, a grudge. I gather that you were not involved, nor do you know the extent of what I am talking about. Even though you still work in the building.

As it relates to individual talents, without specifics to back it up, it sounds like sour grapes. I agree that the market was let down again, by three major players. Now the pillars of Clear Channel are rumbling too.

I was just about to say that wylly seemed to be a cumulus employee. Hey I love that Mancow in the morning on the supersquawker. Give my thanks to Gary and gang. Hey what are the possibilities that a 3rd country station comes marching to town?

Happens all the time, every day, in every business and personal relationship. You either get used to it, or you spend time fighting it. Or holding grudges. Life's too short to hold grudges.
I gather that you were not involved, nor do you know the extent of what I am talking about.
No involvement, no desire to be involved, and certainly not any of my business. Nor do I want it to be.
Even though you still work in the building.
And grateful to have a job. I spent far too long looking for qualified work after a downsizing in another industry, not for the first time, to turn my nose up at gainful employment in an industry I love. Having had that experience personally, I hope that not just Dawn but everyone that got stepped on in the Great Radio Shuffle of 2006 doesn't have to experience it too.

Didn't mean to start the fighting. A lot went on when Mike and I and Marshall were fired and certain people had a lot to do with it. Anyway, I will stick with what I said about this market, it stinks. The music is the same and the jocks are the same. It is very boring. Its too bad, because this could be a great market. My christmas present has come already. I am heading to NY to work. I do wish everyone who is and might be getting into radio here good luck!!

Good luck in NY Dana : )

I really liked my time with Susquehanna, however I was never full time..so I really wasn't kept up to date on any of the BS and I preferred it that way. I just think radio, while fun to do on a part time basis, just isn't for me on a full time basis for several reasons. I am going into the legal field now. However I also agree with a previous poster that said there is BS in all industries.

I think the same thing goes for employees/managers in all industries..there are going to be employees/managers who are going to be at odds in all industries and make good/bad decisions that all will either agree or disagree with. I think this is the case with Susquehanna/Cumulus/Clear Channel/Entercom or whatever.

Bottomline is, Radio is an entertainment business...not brain surgery where a bad decision is going to cost a life!!!

On the topic of what is happening to all the jocks during this shakeup...What is happening with Jimmy the weasel at 97.3. I know he's been around The Cincy market for some time now. He may be corny at times, but he's a true blue radio guy. It was nice to meet a jock who is not too high and mighty to sit and have a cold one with this listeners. I hope he sticks around.
