I was reading a comment somewhere in cyberspace today that said what I've been thinking of BBT. The poster wrote that it was becoming "The Sheldon Show" and they weren't exploiting the talents of the whole cast. I think Sheldon is funny but he is also annoying if he is the only funny one. I hope the writers figure that out before the show becomes unwatchable.

And on that theme.....I just learned today that BBT will be on hiatus in the coming weeks because Penny (Kaley Cuoco) broke her leg falling off her horse several weeks ago and apparently it was a serious injury. IIRC she did pretty much the same thing on "8 Rules" but they wrote story lines around her and she appeared in a real (leg) cast for a few episodes.
 
The last time I tuned in just to check out a CBS series was Accidentally On Purpose.
Basically because I liked Jenna Elfman. But did not take long to turn me off,
even with a star I really liked. I found that show to be sophomoric, lewd and
disgusting.
 
Let's see, I watch 2 & 1/2 Men, Big Bang Theory, CSI, & CSI NY, 60 minutes, and the AFL on CBS. 30 Rock on NBC. Nothing at the moment on ABC, The Simpsons & Family Guy on Fox. I can't think of any other shows I go out of my way to watch, not that I don't watch some cable shows.

The new Hawaii Five-O (though I was born near the end of the original)

ABC:
Dancing With The Stars
Private Practice

NBC:
The Biggest Loser
Saturday Night Live (new episodes only)

Fox
The Simpsons (on iTunes because they air opposite Amazing Race)

And the late night monologues/comedy bits on all shows except Craig Ferguson.
 
Was a CBS man my whole life, especially for news, beginning with Douglas Edwards back in the late 50s as a kid. Jumped ship to ABC for news around 1990....coudln't take Rather any longer...then to NBC after Peter Jennings passed away. The only thing I currently watch on CBS is NCIS abnd NCIS Los Angeles.
 
I watch Fox 43 morning news out of York, Pa. Sometimes switching to Imus and back. Several hours of local news in the afternons. Out of Harrisburg, Pa and Baltimore. Other than that, I watch NCIS and House. Never anything else.
 
Kaley Cuoco is already back at work; they will have some episodes without her.
 
Oh, I also watch CBS for the Evening News, which had been an on-and-off affair since the Dan Rather era; I was too young to remember Cronkite.

But at some point in my life it was NBC Nightly News for me until Tom Brokaw stepped down (can't stand Brian Williams).

I'm not currently watching anything on CBS, NBC, or the CW, but I'll occasionally watch PBS, History, or Science Channel if there's something interesting on.]

I said "theoretically" above because, in reality, most everything that's aired in the past several weeks has been piling up on my DVR as I've been pretty busy lately. I really need to catch up on some shows...
 
Network shows:
Pretty much only comedies and late night shows that I usually pick up on Hulu
NBC
-The Office
-30 Rock
-Parks and Recreation
-The Tonight Show
-Fallon
ABC
-Modern Family
That's pretty much it.
On the cable side, I enjoy reruns of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Current TV and anything that looks delicious on Food Network.
 
Gonna be honest, I only watch CBS for the Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, and Survivor (okay, may that is a lot of shows :p), but other than those, I barely tune in.

Last week, 95 of the 100 most watched tv shows among adults 18-49 were on broadcast television.

Last season, according to Nielsen, an average 22.2 million households in prime time viewed the four major networks during the first 51 weeks of the broadcast year ended Sept. 19.

Ad-supported cable nets were viewed by an average 41.5 million homes in prime time during the same period.

So a lot of households still watch CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox. The question really is can the networks continue to make their financial model work since cable has a much better profit margin.

NBC, the network part, lost $250 million dollars last year. Their little watched cable channel, MSNBC, made a profit of $149 million.

TNA Impact (one of the two wrestling shows I watch, AAA on Galavision is the other)

Nickelodeon (yeah, I know I'm way too old for it):

And lots of C-SPAN (with a sprinkling of CNN) in between!
