Also, for all the complaining many have done about the Radio Chick, she gets the same numbers in afternoon drive as O&A gets in the morning, 12+ (mid 1's).
Free FM, as I've mentioned before, will get more time, but I don't know if more time will do the station much good.

keep in mind that the Chick's #'s are actually all hers. 25% of the morning numbers are JP & Elvis, which despite the 30% increase is still quite a bit lower than a 1.6. O&A's target demos (even with one hour being a lower rated show) is still quite a bit better than the radio Chick's. Also again, this is just one book, this is the first time the Chick's numbers have been anywhere close to O&A's numbers even with that extra lower rated hour in there)

Really? The station was down from the last book....1.4 to 1.3 and now the station is doing bad you think that the Chick and O & A did something to help? With JV and Elvis doing and increase of 30% and the rest of the station being flat or down, what has the drive times done for Free FM? It makes me laugh they are still going after the show with an increase of listners as the problem....please...JV and Elvis have a show that will be big in NY in no time......Time for O & A and the Chick to step up to the plate and hit some homeruns.

As stated before, one bad book doesn't spell doom and gloom, and we also don't know how much of a lateral shift of listeners went from Free-FM and bought XM.

No not really Star because the thing is that O and A's cume is pretty small and always has been. When at WNEw their cume was somewhere in the 600,000 range, very small yet very loyal and gave them a tremendous TSL. TSl is what has always driven their numbers, pure and simple. Their TSL is extrordinary, Ive always admire them for that. In short they have always had a small but very loyal audience which drives their ratings success. So in other words no I dont tthink the XM factor means a lot because if their terrestrial radio cume was only 600,000 in New York during the height of their popularity, I doubt that they have somehow signed many more people to pay to hear the show now that they're doing mornings. That just does not gel logically with the numbers. Now seeing that according to arbitron WFNY's ENTIRE cume is down to 650,000 or so, it is clear that O and A have not brought in a huge infusion of listeners.

What are the numbers 6-9? Were they trending down all three months? or was it just one brutal month in there? The book isn't good no question, but to throw them under the bus for one book is a bit silly and naive.
Yes well [EDIT] Tim you're hardly objective when it coems to O and A. You never see antyhing but their brilliance so your comments are always suspect. Besides it has been more than one book at this point and even if it were only one book you cannot possibly claim that the problem is that people do not know they're on, that is false. They have been promoted hugely. That dog dont hunt as they say.

Nice to see you can respond without attacking somone...
Hey that's my bad buddy,an apology to you and a note to the mods: I was not attacking you, your post sounded exactly like another Tim who posts here. This tim in question is known as "Psycho Tim" from the O and A show, I mistook you for him, so I apologize. Just so you know my use of the word "psycho" was not meant as an insult, it's actually the dude's name on the show, so in that sense it's more of an adverb referring to his behavior as a member of the O and A army. Either way if you are not he please accept my apology, Im not about the insult in expression of opinion.

Thats fine. I didn't know what you said, I saw it was edited so I figured it was something a bit worse than that. while I'm not Psych Tim (and I know who you referring to by that didn't realize he posted here) I have defended O&A on these boards and the other one going back to their early NEW days so I thought the post was directed at me. Despite not being able to listen to them much because of my schedule I am still a fan in the show and as I said I have defended them in the past, but generally fair in my defense of them (and not the over the top stuff you see by some members of the army)

Are you kidding or what? They have a job to bring listeners to WFNY and that is what they are getting paid for. If they do not then thet should just go back to XM. When they are on WFNY they have been paid to get the listeners to listen on the radio and not on XM. That is and will always be a problem for this show. And now with the word that XM and Sirrius are mergering that will be even more of problem.( If the fcc lets the deal go down)

It's not like O&A was going to come with a built-in audience. Their audience is on XM and has no reason to turn on Free.

That's assumeing that if they listen to XM, that they would log it as terrestrial. Also, if they wrote O and A, but also wrote XM they would NOT be given credit. You also have a demo that is too cool to be filling out diaries and they probably do not report like a housewife would. XM probably cuts in a little, and lack of reporting of listening probably contributed but overall, yeah, they had better fix something because they re still lower than they need to be. As a listener, and I think they are very talented.....they do a different show then they had when they were #1 on WNEW. They were better at apointment listening and gave you more EVENTS to tune in for....55 gallon drum challenge, etc. Now they rely on more talk, listener feedback and comedian banter. Although it's still good radio, you can miss a day and not feel like you missed anything. And I am a fan! There are no BIG DAYS coming up to listen for. One homeless shopping spree per year isn't going to drive the ratings every day. They are funny, but they are relying on that and the comic in the room for tune ins.
but if they got a diary and wrote they listen to o&a then 92.3 would get the credit. so the fact that they listen on just xm doesnt really hold water
TowerBuzz said:Actually and unfortunately that is not true. they got waxed in most of their markets. They really flamed out big time. The problem is being O and A no one will be able to tell them to make any adjustments to the show. The show which they are really phoning in these days as they are now rich and lazy. Sad but true.

So? This is New York. Not Boston or Philadelphia.
