You are correct, sir. The purchase of AM 970 coincided with the creation of KKXX as an AOR station in early 1977. The purchase of AM 550 and spinoff of 970 took place in early 1986. The KUZZ AM/FM simulcast on AM 550/FM 107.9 began in 1988 when Buck shut down KKXX (by then a straight-out rhythmic CHR), and the call letters were then picked up by another operator, Salem IIRC.
