APRIL RATINGS ... Discuss

normally the powers that be wipe them off the board because of fear of lawsuits

for them to be up this long makes me thing the powers that be are not watching or nobody has hit the report button

FM sports radio station “98.5 The Sports Hub” gave veteran WEEI a beat down last month in the battle for young male listeners.

The Sports Hub was the top Hub station among 18 to 34-year-old male listeners during the April ratings book, fetching an overall 11.5 share of that audience.

WEEI-AM (850) tied for 14th place with “Oldies 103″ with a 2.1 share. (WEEI-FM in Providence scored a .2).

lol

comparing WODS's 18-34 male ratings against WEEI 850's is comparing apples and oranges.

WODS's P1 is certainly older than 34, and probably skewed more towards female.

lies, damned lies, and statistics.

The old paper Arbitron books used to have some pretty strong language about copyright protection. I guess times -- and Arbitron -- have changed.

Arbitron's stance on enforcing its copyrights and licensing agreements hasn't changed one iota. It is still illegal to publicly post anything but the figures released to the general public. However, whoever it is at Arbitron that monitors this stuff can't be everywhere at once.

Semantics argument: Once the information is posted publicly via leak, Arbitron has no control over it, no? My point being if an anonymous source posts the data, then Arbitron is crap out of luck (other then identifying the poster of data).

And if the poster is identified, what happens next? Prosecution? Trial? What sort of penalty does Arbitron seek? Outlandish six-figure numbers like the recording industry has sought from people who use file-sharing sites?

They're apparently also unaware that WODS hasn't been "Oldies 103.3" for a couple of years now. The "O" word is long gone.

I'm impressed by how well country station WKLB is doing. Is their 6.2 rating their best ever? Their rating might be even a bit higher if not for the 1.1 out of town WCTK manages to get.
As I am not in this market, I'd like to know whether WKLB does a lot of promotion-billboards, ads, events etc.
Country radio seems to be pulling in good numbers in many northeastern cities.

I find it hard to believe that they can't find out who originally posted the numbers. The obvious suspect is a 98.5 employee. They must know, who, at 98.5 had access to them. Perhaps station management was behind it.
