in the last few months, noory has gotten in the habit of cutting off guests too quick ,mid sentence at the bottom, or top of hour when the break nears, only to give us 15 to 30 seconds+ of filler bead music. It seems a radio veteran would let the guest finish the sentence instead of chopping things off right quick, as if "clock anxiety" panic is rearing its ugly head. ive noticed john b. wells take it to the final second.wadio said:Noory is phoning it in these days. I seldom listen but heard about a half hour a few nights ago. TWICE during that time he asked the guest a question that the guest had already answered moments before!
When Noory took over for Art Bell in 2002 he said he planned to retire in 2012. It's time.
art bell in the 90's was some top notch unique style late night radio. but, after arts three retirements, the show needed the next gear to be shifted into, that mike siegal couldnt find. noory has brought C2C to #2 in listenership. art bells fill ins, within the last few years, often turned into an obama kiss session. this is not the same art bell libertarian, ross perot campaigner, we remember, and love from the early 90's, before art changed the shows direction from politics to the current format.
but, noory and the producers also have kept the show low key in hype and promotion style, just as in the unique art bell tradition we all love. unlike clyde lewis, and his "ground zero show"paranormal hype laser sound bead music hype promo machine time waste nonesense. noory, has also brought the show to the next level in guests, like alex jones, and also retained the interview relationships like richard hoagland, that art started. this is good radio theater, whether you like or agree with the guests, or not. last nights show with craig hulet, was top notch. i say, george noory in the C2C chair for many more years and over look the petty stuff!!!! when george does decide to retire sometime in the years ahead, john b. wells is the man to shift C2C into the next gear.....
just my nickels worth.
