I've been in Los Angeles for almost 6 years.
This morning I heard a recorded report on KNX that ended with "Art Sanders KNX Newsradio" and just about choked on my coffee.
We must have missed it on this board, but he left KNWN after over 20 years, in May.
KOMO's all news format started in September 2002, so he didn't quite make the anniversary of the format change. He had been a Fisher doing news for a couple of years prior to the switch, and stayed on. I think Manda Factor and Tom Hutlyer are the only remaining names on the roster that were there for the format launch. Brian Calvert and Rick Van Cise have left and come back and Corwin Haeck was an original Metro Traffic reporter but didn't move in house until a few years later.
He's one of the best news voices in the business. I assumed that he stayed for all these years on the evening shift by his preference - by talent alone he should have been in a drive time slot long ago.
