It seems that one size doesn't fit all when it comes to programming. As far as ignoring "real time", that works for some content, and not for other content.

Immediacy has been part of radio's strength ever since the beginning. If people want podcasts, they can simply download them from the web. We're looking for things that differentiate radio, not things that emulate other delivery services. Podcasts are a nice adjunct to radio, but creating podcasts in place of relatable, relevant, timely programming is simply not good enough to keep listeners interested.
